Reviews
However, there was no air-conditioning which makes the room stuffy. Even though it is possible to open the window to ventilate, it also meant that insects could fly in as there was no window filter to block it out.
The sound proofing in the room is bad. You can hear the activities in the other room.
This hotel does not have lift or escalator so pack light as you have to carry it up the stairs by yourself.
This hotel is not suitable for family with young children as this entire hotel is too quiet. Coupled with the bad sound proofing in the room, we felt very embarrassed. However if you are intending a stay as a couple, this hotel might be suitable.
Food wise, the Italian dinner is really not to our liking. The menu for breakfast and dinner are planned ahead by the hotel. There are no alternative food sources if you are hungry so do stock up before staying there.
The bathhouse is large and clean, the public space is spacious, the bed in the room is large, and there is a high chair by the window to rest and watch the scenery. The scenery outside the window is pleasant.
I also take my kids to draw with colored pencils in the library.
I really like the unique style of this hotel.
The dinner was an absolute highlight, a 5 course dinner with vegetables, fish etc. the dishes were incredibly well prepared, tasted amazing and looked delicious! The breakfast was also quite interesting, a single plate with all kinds of stuff - curry, bread, butter, sausages, salad. They care about food waste a lot (which I absolutely understand), so they rather make a single plate for each person instead of preparing a huge buffet, and then throwing away half of the food - I absolutely welcome this idea, it’s very thoughtful.
The onsen is quite cute and practical. At the time of this writing they have a collaboration with a different onsen hotel nearby, so in principle one has access to two onsens.
The goodbye was quite difficult for us, the comfy bed, the onsen, the good food and the lovely staff have quite grown on us.
Would absolutely recommend this place.
The location is okay of you don't mind the walk to the station.
One star off because our toilet was flushing constantly while sitting on it and the shower in the room never got warm. The Onsen fixes that and makes it worth a frequent visit.
The service staff are friendly, the environment is ordinary, and the equipment is ordinary.
We booked two rooms for two people.
The total cost is NT$10,778.
There is a 500 yen (per room) hot spring entrance tax when you check out.
The advantage is that it is very close to the Asahidake Ropeway.
Deer Valley had a calm, relaxing ambiance, would definitely stay again.
