Hotel Kunugigaoka Otaru is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful city, right by the sea. It's conveniently located, perfect for a snowy stroll. I enjoyed delicious 'chame' barbecue, visited the Music Box Antique Museum, and the Japanese Ukiyo-e Art Museum, among other places.

This is my second time staying here. The breakfast is fantastic, with a wide variety of options. Both the sea and mountain views are beautiful, and the rooms are quite spacious compared to other hotels in Otaru. It's just a shame there's no hot spring.

This is a very classic hotel. The lobby is brightly lit, and the front desk staff were very friendly and clearly explained the opening hours for the three entrances. They even specifically advised JR travelers which door to use. The room was spacious and very clean, and the mountain view from the window was absolutely stunning – a pleasant surprise!

The hotel's location is pretty average; it's a bit of a walk to all the attractions. Luckily, we chose to drive, but we ended up paying over 3000 yen for parking over two days, which stings a bit since other Japanese hotels usually offer free parking. Plus, the hotel facilities are generally old, and the room lighting is super dim. If that bothers you, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. On the bright side, the front desk service was quite friendly and always smiling, which was a definite plus.

The hotel environment is fantastic and the rooms are huge! The windows are also really big. The staff are very friendly, and the buffet is delicious! Plus, the hotel is directly connected to a mall on the first floor, which makes shopping and dining incredibly convenient!

Great basement parking, easily accessible and protected from the snowfall. The interconnecting room was huge and totally worth it for a family of 2A 2C. The hotel was connected to a shopping mall so there was plenty of food choices, shopping, supermarket and even cinema for movie needs. There’s a teppanyaki restaurant Cocoro Grand Park Otaru which serves amazing teppanyaki wagyu and crab and was totally worth the price.

Before our trip, I emailed several hotels regarding our honeymoon, and only Sapporo Odori and Grand Park Otaru replied. Hotels in Toya, Hakodate, and Noboribetsu, all costing over 3K, didn't respond. Grand Park Otaru was by far the most proactive, even arranging a complimentary cake for us. Highly recommend! Although it's a bit far from the popular spots, getting a taxi is very convenient.

Urine smell toilet could only be solve in next day after checking in, bed mattress was too old with a “soft hole” in the backbone area… couldn’t sleep well

Good services with fast check in, location is good for traveller, there is a lots of shop next to the hotel, tasty breakfast with seaview.

The room view was really nice. However, the check-out time in the morning was way too early. The location is perfect for self-driving tourists.
