This was my third time staying here. The staff's service was excellent, making my stay very pleasant. I'd love to visit again.

They helped with my luggage upon arrival, and provided a check-in service. They speak fluent English. I booked a room with a private onsen (hot spring bath), which overlooked the canal – the view was amazing! There was also a massage chair. The complimentary wagashi (Japanese sweets) were delicious, and the mini-fridge was stocked with free drinks. Dinner was also quite good.

My wife and I had great time at this hotel. They offered us various welcome presents for our 10th year anniversary. The Japanese style dinner was wonderful and also the onsen was delightful. Reasonable price and excellent location makes it a good choice.

This hotel is excellent in every aspect.

The staff are incredibly friendly and, despite limited English, they make a genuine effort to communicate. Three staff members were waiting outside for our check-in, and they escorted us all the way to the door during check-out.

The location is super convenient, right next to the Otaru Canal, and it's a quick walk to Otaru Station.
The hotel offers a lounge (accessible to all guests) and a smoking area.
Outside the public bath, there are complimentary ice cream and Yakult drinks.
Our room window opened right onto the canal, and the room was fully equipped with everything we needed. We initially thought our room wouldn't have a bathtub, but to our surprise, it did, and the bathroom window also offered a direct view of the Otaru Canal. Even the bathwater is natural hot spring water!

Both breakfast and dinner were outstanding. While it might not suit everyone's palate, the Furukawa staff are very accommodating and try their best to make adjustments. For example, my fiancée doesn't eat raw food, and they were able to substitute those items for us.

All in all, if you're looking to stay a night in Otaru, I highly recommend this hotel.

This is my second time here, and I'm completely satisfied with everything. The hospitality, in particular, is exceptional, making it my number one hotel to stay at again!
