Yado Nakaya in Kamogawa

The staff were exceptionally trained and the Proprietor was always kind and grateful. The food was really special, if you like Japanese food, and the local ingredients made it special. I was very disappointed that the pool wasn’t opened because I purposely looked only at places with pools, but the rooms, service, private bath, and magical stellar musicians made our 8th Anniversay stay quite special. Thank you all for caring about us and our stay. We look forward to coming back! Ciao ciao

The hospitality service was excellent. The facilities are old, but the food was lavish and very good. I'll definitely come back again.

It was a good trip.

This popular, long-established inn, founded 180 years ago, offers ocean views from every room, hot spring water from its own source, and gourmet cuisine. Our Western-style room features a semi-open-air bath with free-flowing hot spring water. We stayed in a corner room of the Luxury Sunset Deluxe Twin "Umibe no Machi" (Seaside Town). The view from our room was like being in a painting, especially the sunset, which we could gaze upon for hours while looking out at the calm Kamogawa sea. The hot spring water was excellent, with a pH of 8.8, leaving my skin feeling smooth. The Simmons bed was incredibly comfortable, with plenty of fabrics, a desk, and a bar corner. The room was spacious and clean. The meals were sumptuous, both in the morning and evening. The signature "Iso Kaiseki" dinner was a masterpiece prepared by the chef, who has won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award, featuring luxurious dishes made with local ingredients such as spiny lobster and abalone. The breakfast of Boso hijiki seaweed and handmade tofu was also exquisite. The hotel is fully equipped with a lounge, large public bath, private bath, and pool (open only in summer), and there are also live mini concerts in the evenings, so the facilities are excellent. We also enjoyed the warm hospitality and the wonderful morning walks along the beach.

It was received good service from staff in terms of front desk and restaurant with limited English. The only comment on WiFi network was not stable especially in the room and good network at reception and restaurant

It should be noted that the sake lineup is in a price range that is easy to ask for. The wine was about 5000 yen and there was a bottle of Saint-Emilion, which was delicious. It was a brand I didn't know, but I thought I found it well. There are several types of local sake from Chiba. I was satisfied with the breakfast, quantity and taste. In general, I think it's comparable to a meal at an inn that costs 50,000 yen per Hakone. I would like the following improvements. Compared to local sake drinking, it was room temperature, but I think it tastes better when it's slightly chilled. I stayed in a Japanese-style room with an open-air bath on the 5th floor, but it is not generally an open-air bath. I think it's better not to call it an "open-air bath" because it gives a bad impression. The room is not large. It is the making of a room of about 8 tatami mats in an old inn. The public bath (male) was empty if you chose the time. The weak point here is that the room is small and it is not a modern building, but I think that it is a satisfying inn if you enjoy free drinks and meals as the main. I plan to revisit.
