Tokyo Guest House Ouji Music Lounge in Tokyo

This was the worst stay of my entire trip. The building is extremely old and feels like a repurposed love hotel. The hallways have a strange smell, the layout is confusing, and the entire place feels neglected. The photos online do not match the current condition.

Cleanliness is unacceptable. Rooms feel worn out, the air is stale, and the common areas look unmaintained. There are CO2 monitors placed around the building, which is alarming given how poor the ventilation feels. It creates a sense that the air quality is unsafe. There are also signs everywhere warning about theft, yet the only option for valuables is a tiny 100 yen locker.

The atmosphere is uncomfortable. Guests keep to themselves and the vibe is tense rather than social. A friend staying with me woke up to the person in the bunk below openly masturbating in the dorm. That alone shows how little supervision or respect for shared spaces exists here.

Ōji is a nice area, but very quiet, and staying in a run down property like this makes the isolation worse. I left after one night and moved to Ueno, which was significantly cleaner and more secure.

I do not recommend this guest house to anyone looking for a safe or comfortable stay.

The room was cold. The water heater was good.

Horrible service

I booked this hostel and paid in full. I arrived around 11 PM, but there was no staff present. I contacted them, and only after an hour was I informed that they didn’t have a bed for me.

I received no alternative, no assistance, and no refund. I had to walk 40 minutes with heavy luggage late at night.

I did not stay at the property, and the staff made no effort to resolve the situation. This experience was extremely disappointing.
