Sun Plaza Hotel in Kirishima

I was surprised that parking was only 1,000 yen considering how far away it is.

There was a young boy at the front desk, struggling to use honorific language he was not used to, and there was a line of people waiting to check in.

There was no explanation of the hotel interior, I was simply handed the key.

Do the hotel staff undergo training...?

The room had been renovated and was clean.

The incandescent bulbs were low-wattage and dim. If they weren't going to make it brighter, I would have preferred a warmer color.

The bathroom hadn't been renovated, only wallpapered.

The problem was that there was a large crack in the bathroom ceiling. It looked as if someone had stood on top and stepped through it.

This hotel is a scam!!

There was no explanation of the plan on the booking website, no guide in the room, and no explanation!!!

On the second day, after I'd paid, I was told that they would only clean the room once every two days to be eco-friendly!

I'd already paid, and even if I wanted to change hotels, I wasn't in a position to look for another one since I was staying for a long period of time...

The staff's level was, of course, rock-bottom...it seemed there was no manager, so I was left wondering what kind of training they even had. The cleaning staff came into my room while I was in, and when I asked them to stop the noise next door, they only warned me once, even though it wasn't going to quiet down in one go. There was no sign of them patrolling after that!

And yet the room-only rate was higher than a normal business hotel. I spend a third of the year living in hotels, and this was the first time I'd ever experienced such a poor hotel.

Even if I probably won't be back, please be careful.

If I went to borrow a mobile phone charger at midnight today.
