I was in Nagasaki for work and stayed overnight at Ihokan. My car was too tall to fit in the parking lot, so I had to use the nearby paid parking lot. The exterior of the building exudes a sense of antiquity. Inside, I spotted a large pendulum clock. I received my room key at the front desk and used the elevator right next door. The door to my room required inserting and turning the key while pushing the door open. My first reaction was, "Seriously?" The window was small, and even with the curtains open, I could only see the apartment building next door. It was a shame that the location wasn't ideal for enjoying the view. Although there was a large public bath, I chose to stay in my room. It was a unit bath, though. The food was varied and satisfying, but I couldn't finish it all. They served many Nagasaki specialties. The breakfast was also quite generous.
I arrived at the hotel after dark, so I didn't realize it, but there are many temples behind the hotel, and the graveyards are impressive. I could even see the Kannon statue.
The hotel staff were very helpful, and despite being a business stay, I was very satisfied.

Old? It's certainly old, but to put it another way, it's "nostalgic."
The bath isn't huge, but there's a large public bath.
The breakfast set is substantial.
Above all, the staff are incredibly kind.
That's extremely important.
When I called to confirm my reservation, the service was fantastic.
"Thank you for choosing us even though we don't have Wi-Fi," said the charming old man. This is Japan. You can travel without Wi-Fi. You can easily pick up a signal.
Access to tourist attractions is excellent.
The hotel isn't too big, it's compact and just right.
It's great.
You have to carry your suitcase up a slight incline and stairs to get to the hotel. That's also very Nagasaki-like, and I liked it.
However, it might be a little risky for elderly people.

If asked, "Would you stay again?", my answer would be an immediate "Yes."
I enjoyed a trip to the good old days of Nagasaki.

We stayed here during the Omura Fireworks Festival, the Penguin Aquarium, and our trip to Umi Kirara! The building and rooms are old, but they're kept clean. 😊 And best of all, it comes with a large public bath for this price. We enjoyed it as if we were in a private bath with our kids! We didn't have dinner, but the breakfast was also very satisfying. The service was also very good, and it was a fun family trip. 😄 I'd like to stay here again when we visit Nagasaki!

It’s old but it has everything you need.
The breakfast was very delicious! They give you yukata, tea, and a bath house on 5th floor.

A good hotel with no points to point out except in a small place.

I stayed for 2 nights from 30th. I was not expecting it, but I was surprised at the meal on the day and was impressed with the meal on 31st and the meal on New Year's Day. This is also a worry for the staff ❣️ This is an old building, but I highly recommend it. Suica will be available from this year. Tram 130 yen everywhere ❤️

There are large public baths for both men and women, and there is a very good public bath that is as large as the public baths of famous hotels. The guest rooms are a very good hotel, although they have a sense of the times.

The hotel is old but the service is great!

This is by far the worst hostel I've stayed in japan. One small room which has five beds separated by a wall, and the door is an accordion door what is transparent to light so when other people leave their light on, everybody suffers. Plus, the mattress is the worst. I had a really hard time to fall asleep and I regret ever going there. The woman at the coffee shop on the bottom there was really nice

Got a nice e-bike here for a reasonable price! Took it around the peace park/museum and area. The owner is sweet and gave me an easy way to return the bike in case he was away.

A little up hill across Nagasaki station, close to 26 Martyrs monument and museum, restaurants and main road of streetcar and buses. Super quiet neighborhood. Bicycle rental available.

Complete with fridge, kitchen, kettle, washing machine, dryer and you can hang laundry on the roof, how wonderful! Even my thick socks are dried after 1 day on the roof.

Owner is also an author and artist, you can enjoy her artistic postcards that guide you on the city's attractions. Love the bookworm vibe.

I rented an ebike to explore Nagasaki. Very friendly staff, decent bikes. I went all the way down to the Kaba Island Lighthouse and return and the battery were still at 30%. Overall it should last around 100km if you use Eco mode.

I rented a bike here. This was the best bike rental I had in a 3 week trip in Japan. They have very nice bikes, unlike the bike shares in each city. I rode about 80k in 4 hours. When I got back, I ordered a sandwich which was made very well and served with some chips. The food and bike rentals are a great deal, the people are very friendly and helpful. Japan is a wonderful place to visit, but this place stood out as exceptional. Thanks for your service.
