APA Hotel Naha Matsuyama in Naha

This was my third time staying at an APA Hotel.
The other day, I stayed at the APA Hotel in Tokyo Asakusa, which had an open-air public bath and it was amazing.
I didn’t expect to enjoy a bath this time, but even though this hotel didn’t have an open-air bath, the large bathtub was still very nice.

The location on Kokusai Street was quite convenient. I was also very satisfied with the large communal bath. However, disposable amenities like toothbrushes weren't automatically provided, so I had to request them directly from the front desk.

It’s been 13 years since our last visit to Okinawa, and with the yen still weak, we finally had the chance to book a trip and see our in-laws.

While looking into hotels in Okinawa, I discovered the Apa Hotel, which is conveniently located near the famous Kokusai Dori.
We are a big fan of Apa Hotel—whenever we visit Japan, we always book a room there because it’s both convenient and very affordable.

We didn’t realize until our in-laws mentioned it that our hotel was surrounded by host clubs and nightclubs, which tend to be quite noisy at night. Fortunately, since we had requested a quiet room in advance, our stay was mostly peaceful.

Compact yet comfortable. Room was small but still very cozy. Staff was very nice. We were able to order Dominos pizza from our room. We had difficulty contacting the restaurant, but the staff was nice enough to come to our room and order for us. There is also an onsen to relax in. The location is also extremely convenient, as 711 and family mart is less than one minute away. Easy recommendation.

Overall a good hotel for a good price. This location is a bit older than some of the newer APA hotels and you can see it when entering the room. The rooms are a bit dirty along the baseboards and need a bit more cleaning. The washroom was smaller than your newer style APA hotel washrooms, and the bidet for the toilet was non functional. I also had an issue with the wifi in my room, in which a prompt would come on the middle of the TV screen and was not able to be acknowledged or removed due to no wifi signal being present. I had no wifi for the duration of my trip at this hotel.

On the other hand, the Naha location is a premium location. Located within walking distance to many shops and restaurants and close to many activities including a park and nightlife.

I would recommend staying at this location despite my wifi issues, mainly due to its location and pricing. APA is a staple in Japan and this hotel is still great value.
