A decent budget option for those staying in Ipoh.
The rooms are decently sized and have varying levels of cleanliness, I stayed into two rooms across my time in Ipoh. The first room had some sort of stuff under the quilt when I pulled it back but was clean enough.
As for location, it is a bit of a walk to restaurants but it feels pretty safe.

Budget stay with big rooms. Location's industrial, not touristy. Good: have iron and water filter. Bad: no lift, dirty pillow sheet (really dirty), bathroom floor was dangerously slippery. Indian lady at receptionist was friendly. Solid 3.8/5,

I guess the lady from front desk upgraded my room for free to a double bed. Free toiletries (body & hair), towels, TV and aircon. No water but do give you a boiler. Spacious room for price. Clean environment.

We stop by this hotel at midnight just to transit to Penang.Nothing much expected.For a quick stay,room size and price is acceptable.Parking hotel is available but limited.No towel,water bottle or toilettries.

Had a lovely stay at Hotel Shangg! The place is clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect — just a short walk to Little India and Ipoh Padang. The staff are wonderful, especially the kind and helpful Pakistani gentleman at reception who made us feel welcome. Only small note: no coffee or hair dryer in the room. Still, a great choice for exploring Ipoh!

The pillows are too flat. Provided drinking water, hot and cold. Very convenience including iron for ladies especially for their scarf.
In the room itself, water flow is very good. Providing shampoo and body wash but you better bring your own cause its not enough for more than a night.
The surrounding is not noisy and I slept well enough. I was the on May 2025 and surprisingly no deposit was taken on that time.

near to the town just 5 minutes away . easy access to transportation like Sri maju or medan kid . hotel's staff is friendly and helpful . nearby to food court . value for money for normal stay .
