Stay here for its location in the heritage area of Ipoh Old Town. Concubine Lane is the street parallel to Market St. A long time tea merchant, Leong Swee Sang is just a few doors away.
The interior of the hotel is Instagramable. The room is small, basic but clean. There is no wardrobe, and a hot & cold water dispenser is provided in the common area. The ensuite bathroom is big enough and there's hot shower.
The hotel is not for the elderly as there are no rooms at the ground floor and no lift. Live music from a nearby pub is audible till early hours in the morning on weekends.
The traffic in this area is very bad. If driving, be prepare to park further away, and if taking Grab, be prepared to be dropped off outside this area.

Good about this hotel is tastefully decorated and at right old town location..
But bad is the mattress too hard and not comfortable. Another big problem is no sound proof for room, very loud from live band until 2 am and day time neighbourhood playing bird song repeating..
Hope owner of this hotel take this feedback seriously for improvement.

It’s very beautiful, rustic and different to other hotels. The attention to detail is amazing, and the woodwork is incredible. I would have given the room 5 but the bed is a bit hard. The cafe in the hotel is also nice; the coffee and tiramisu is good. The cafe opens up to a back lane. Over all, the hotel and cafe is very charming.

This is not for everyone. But the place is really unique in style and presentation. Clean rooms, simple but with everything you need.
The whole hotel has made use of hand carved wood to make almost everything. Great value for money. You won't be disappointed

Location is good. Food is a lot nearby, you can listen to live pub music in the room. However, if you are a light sleeper might experience some flowing water sound through the pipe or occasionally wood sound when people is walking above you.

There os no reception nor staff within the developments.
The bamboo ceiling had molds and lots of cobwebs. Grit was falling on the bed
There were large gaps in sliding door. Hence, there were mosquitoes at night
Moreover, the wooden floor boards in the lounge and fishpond were rotten. You'll need to watch your step to avoid splinters or fall

there is no wifi, room is dirty and hot and there's a lot of mosquitoes as well, there is no person as well at the reception to assist guest upon arrival, and we didn’t stay there and the owner refuse to refund , just ask to return the key . It’s not a hotel and not even an hot stay , owner just end you the WhatsApp Vedio and ask t9

Most artistic interior design that I ever see in local home stay. However, the air conditioner may not work well in the hot weather especially those rooms at highest floor.

Great location in the city. Walking distance to go to Concubine Lane.
The opposite cafe got very nice croissants. Should try! haha
Lovely room with artistic touches. The bathroom is spacious.
The mattress was not fluffy/soft. It’s hard & uncomfortable.
You can hear the sound of water (showering/flushing) from the next/upper room. The soundproofing is so bad.

Quiet little hotel right in the middle of downtown Ipoh for a reasonable rate. I chose this spot specifically because it allows pets, and my cat really loved exploring the space (the rule is that you must keep them in their carrier if they're in the room unsupervised). The rooms are very restful even though the walls are a bit thin. My balcony was small and overlooked the side garden below, and we could see the road but still maintain privacy.
Reception staff are scarce the first half of the day. The decor is really interesting, very wood-oriented (my dad and I spent several minutes trying to figure out how they lock the front door made of found, polished wood with a big hole in the middle!) and the murals have an odd artsy feel. They have common areas to hang out in with water coolers and an ironing board (in case you're in town for a fancy event).
