While I was sleeping in this hotel, the cleanliness was very good, the wifi was fast, the TV had YouTube, the room was spacious and clean, comfortable to sleep in. The staff was also friendly.

Glad we choose this hotel. Nearer to Lost world tambun with cheapest price.

This is a local budget hotel chain, the location is very near to Tambun Sunway Lost World, walking distance to the theme park, near by also have many Malay Foods Restarants. Parking is convenient but remember to pay parking coupon during office hours.

Reasonable price, convenient, will come back to stay again

Self check-in was a bit of a hassle. Oh, and here's a heads-up: if you don't have RM50, you can't check in. They ask for a RM50 cash deposit. I saw some people who wanted to stay but didn't have the cash and had to leave, which was really inconvenient. The room was cramped and not worth it. You also have to buy your own toiletries.

Overall, the hotel is clean and well-maintained. I believe most guests choose to stay here because it is within walking distance to Sunway Lost World, which is about 900 meters away. The location is convenient, with TF Mart in front of the hotel and 99 Speedmart at the back. Parking is very easy, with plenty of spaces available. Host is friendly. Room is clean, simple and quiet. Check in and out is express mode, very clear and fast. It's 5 minutes away from the Lost world of Tambun. So a good choice for anyone visiting the theme park.

A very rustic hotel in a great location about 10 minutes walk from the station. The rooms are very basic but adequate with AC It is all pretty much self service there is no need to interact with any member of staff. Local shops are very close

Blackout and card malfunction until I change another room. Located near Aeon Mall and Tesco. Plenty of restaurants and shops but quite far from the old town(＞5km). Public transport is not efficient thus this hotel is probably only good for local tourists and those with cars. Provide portable water and lift.

Nice location near to some attraction point like Sam Poh Tong, convenient access to highway, got paid car park lot and free car park at nearby, price is reasonable too, front desk is polite, got water refill in front the lift, overall this is the idea budget hotel for a small trip.

The hotel is situated in city area, no parking, only the public parking around. The hotel is not sound proof, night there are alot of pub just below at the back of the hotel but very noisy difficult to sleep. Anyway it is just until 2.00am. The place is a bit run down, my daughter bed got bed bug, and it bit all around her thigh. Got a change of room and end up she was given a bed with no bed frame...

Hotel location is great if your objective is to eat all the nice food in Ipoh. The family room is super comfortable! I went there with my friends total of 6 people and we had so much fun in there. The room was large, there is a TV, hairdryer, lots of cabinets, and multiple beds. It was very amazing to stay

Good about this hotel is tastefully decorated and at right old town location.. But bad is the mattress too hard and not comfortable. Another big problem is no sound proof for room, very loud from live band until 2 am and day time neighbourhood playing bird song repeating.. Hope owner of this hotel take this feedback seriously for improvement.

It’s very beautiful, rustic and different to other hotels. The attention to detail is amazing, and the woodwork is incredible. I would have given the room 5 but the bed is a bit hard. The cafe in the hotel is also nice; the coffee and tiramisu is good. The cafe opens up to a back lane. Over all, the hotel and cafe is very charming.

This is not for everyone. But the place is really unique in style and presentation. Clean rooms, simple but with everything you need. The whole hotel has made use of hand carved wood to make almost everything. Great value for money. You won't be disappointed

Location is good. Food is a lot nearby, you can listen to live pub music in the room. However, if you are a light sleeper might experience some flowing water sound through the pipe or occasionally wood sound when people is walking above you.

Small hotel located away from main road. room behind can sometimes hear the school kids from the nearby school but it's not an issue as it gets quiet pretty fast. room are big, clean, firm bed, aircond cooling . No frill but a good place to come back to rest after a full day out. Front desk team very efficient & friendly.

Location is nice, not far from Lotus and Aeon. The room size is small, no window, no hairdryer, thin walls. You can hear a loud noises from the lobby area. Kids were screaming and running until midnight and music was playing by the staff maybe. However, I could sleep well around midnight. They’re lacking a lot of basic stuff that’s expected from a hotel: there’s only one single hanger and they don’t have handwashing soap(???), also the water heater is super hard to adjust. I recently checked in at D Eastern Hotel Ipoh. Even though it’s an older hotel, the interior looks newly renovated and is very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful, and most importantly, the price is very reasonable. Overall, it’s a great value for money stay!

A decent budget option for those staying in Ipoh. The rooms are decently sized and have varying levels of cleanliness, I stayed into two rooms across my time in Ipoh. The first room had some sort of stuff under the quilt when I pulled it back but was clean enough. As for location, it is a bit of a walk to restaurants but it feels pretty safe.

I guess the lady from front desk upgraded my room for free to a double bed. Free toiletries (body & hair), towels, TV and aircon. No water but do give you a boiler. Spacious room for price. Clean environment.

Had a lovely stay at Hotel Shangg! The place is clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect — just a short walk to Little India and Ipoh Padang. The staff are wonderful, especially the kind and helpful Pakistani gentleman at reception who made us feel welcome. Only small note: no coffee or hair dryer in the room. The pillows are too flat. Provided drinking water, hot and cold. Very convenience including iron for ladies especially for their scarf. In the room itself, water flow is very good. We reach this guest house by 10pm plus, as I told my wife, we just need a place for sleep, not require fancy hotel and cost you few hundred. The overall feeling is average, the price/performance ratio is a bit low. The room is very small, and two people can't stand at the same time when the suitcase is placed. The shower water is very small! When I went out, I asked the front desk to help clean up, but when I came back, I found that nothing had been done.

Room here not too big, ok for 2-3 person. Got Astro (or Njoy not sure) but the TV resolution very low. Shower heater also work well. If you need to buy something, the hotel located very nearby Mydin Mall

The location is next to MyDIN Mall, and very near to Amanjaya Sentral (Bus Station) Lots of stall and restaurant near the hotel and not very crowded place to stay. For parking, their are lots of it behind the hotel, but as always, park at your own risk.

The good things is room is clean. But the sad part was the hotel wash room smells bad. The 3rd bed was not as advertised it's temporary small bed. I was not allowed to change to other room as I complained. The just offer 3 free breakfast to us due to their manager was on leave. Trip.com should make sure your members that booking room from you apps should be your priority and be happy for holidays...

The location is decent, with a few restaurants nearby. It's about a 20-minute walk to Old Town and a 10-minute walk to Dessert Street Night Market. The hotel has been renovated, but the management and service quality could use some improvement.

I researched a lot of hotels in Ipoh. Most hotels are spread out around the Ipoh “downtown”. If you’re arriving on a bus from KL, the bus terminal Amanjaya is 9km away. 20 mins on the local bus will take you to Terminal Kidd and it’s a 15 mins walk to M Boutique. We really liked this hotel a lot. On the groundfloor of the hotel there are shops, 2 restaurants, very convinient. There is a 10% discount for guest if you will eat there. Overall a good experience. It’s located away from the hustle and bustle of the town, which makes it quiet, though it is a bit of a drive to get anywhere. Just be careful at night as the street lighting outside the hotel is quite poor.

This building is an amazingly restored heritage building. My loft was fantastic. If you don't like to be a lively area with traffic noise, or don't like to climb stairs (no lift) this is not your place. I personally had no problem with it, i loved the historic feel of the place. It's antique and has a unique charm. Unfortunately, there's no staff open the door between 5:00 and 8:00, which seems a bit user-friendly.
