The Hotel: This boutique hotel is *beautifully* designed—warm, inviting, and thoughtfully curated in every detail. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome cocktail in the charming outdoor courtyard, which immediately set the tone for our stay. The owners were incredibly hospitable; it genuinely felt more like arriving at a family holiday gathering than checking into a hotel. My wife, who is an excellent cook, was completely captivated by the hotel’s outdoor kitchen. It was both functional and elegantly arranged—truly Martha Stewart–worthy. Each morning we enjoyed a sensational Mediterranean breakfast on the patio featuring local fruits, cheeses, breads, high-quality hams, and freshly squeezed juices. It was the perfect start to every day. The Room: Just like the courtyard and common areas, the rooms were beautifully and practically decorated. The bed was *extremely* comfortable, and we appreciated being able to log into our own Netflix and YouTube without any issues. We stayed in four different locations during our trip, and this room was easily one of the most comfortable. Location: The hotel is perfectly situated just outside Valletta. We loved this because it gave us easy access to the entire island without the congestion of staying directly in the city center. Valletta and the Three Cities were only a quick 10-minute Bolt ride away. Even better, we saved 20–30 minutes each day reaching different sites like Mdina/Rabat, the Hypogeum, and the west coast ruins. If you want nightlife, stay in St. Julian’s. If your whole trip revolves around Valletta, you can stay in Valletta—but be prepared to pay double or triple for a much lesser experience. For everyone else, this location is ideal. The Owners: The owners treated us like family from the very beginning. They communicated wonderfully with my wife as we planned our trip. Midway through the week we took a side trip to Ortigia in Sicily (also highly recommended!), and they graciously stored our luggage for us. Our return flight was delayed, and with one message they coordinated everything—it felt like having mission control on standby to get us back in smoothly. Bottom Line: We stayed in five boutique hotels across Sicily and Malta, and this was by far our favorite. We loved it so much that we already know this will be our home base for future trips. The owners, the location, the breakfasts, and the overall experience were worth far more than the price. There are many boutique hotels and rentals in this price range—but if this one is available, book it. It’s truly special.

In a tight and busy little town this hotel is really an oasis of calm. The rooms are fairly spacious compared to chain hotels and very nicely decorated. The bar and pool area are very nice to unwind. Breakfast is great and the service is top notch. Parking can be a bit tricky, but the owners are always on hand to help out.

Having been looking for a small boutique hotel on various websites Lulu kept coming up but not for the dates I particularly wanted. I then contacted Lulu directly asking if we could stay for a week but move rooms. Liudmila contacted me and put together two options to cover the week across different rooms. This worked perfectly for us and we loved every minute of this unique hotel and the exceptional friendly service provided by all the staff, especially Clive. We could not fault anything about this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Malta. Hopefully see you again in the future

A thoroughly enjoyable stay in this stylish (slightly quirky) and interesting hotel where the staff offered an unrivalled level of service. The traditional Maltese town has several decent restaurants and provides a great base to explore further.

This is simply an oasis in a quaint town. Close to the beautiful village of Mdina and also the airport. The hosts are amazing people and make us feel like family from the very moment we walked in. We’d definitely stay here again and happily recommend to others.

This hotel is unique in every aspect! What a place! The hosts go above and beyond to spoil you, make you feel at home and make this stay special. Clive is always at hand with little snacks and cool drinks, while Liudmila is a perfect source of information about the island. Perfect hosts!
Zebugg is a perfect spot to explore the island. Most places are within easy reach by bus or Bolt taxi. Enough choices of restaurants nearby.

This is a truly exceptional hotel and the owners have done a fantastic job in creating an amazing place to spend time in. There is a real wow factor as you walk in the door and enter the reception area which leads to the open-air pool and bar. The rooms are unique (we had a duplex with hot tub accessed by a spiral staircase) with the decor and attention to detail unmatched. The owners and all of the staff create such a warm and inviting atmosphere (5 star hotels could learn a thing or two) to ensure you enjoy your stay. The inclusive breakfast is a great start to the day with an excellent continental offering complemented by hot cooked items (e.g. bacon, sausage, omelettes) to order. The owners provided tips of things to do and places to visit (we enjoyed Mdina one evening) which we were grateful for. We travelled as a family of four (two boys aged 11 and 8) and we all agreed it is the best hotel we have stayed in. We were slightly concerned that this place is a little out of the way but it is approx. 10-15 minutes (EUR12/13) in an uber or bolt, which are plentiful, from Valetta or the airport. It is also well positioned to get to other part of the island and using Bolt/ Uber makes that easy and means you don't need a rental car. The air conditioning also works an absolute treat after a hot day out and about. Part of me does not want to let others in on the secret but that would be unfair to the owners who are lovely people and have created a real gem. We will choose this place again for our next trip to Malta.
