Reviews
I’m a 28-year-old woman and was traveling alone. I felt completely safe at all times during my stay. The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming and the staff is very friendly and attentive.
The food was of great quality and very diverse, Ghislain, the chef at the grill buffet, was amazing!
The beach is stunning, very spacious, and never felt crowded.
Because I enjoyed my stay so much, I even extended it by two more nights. During my entire stay, there was only one day with stronger, slightly uncomfortable wind. On all other days it was either calm or there was a very pleasant, light breeze.
The room was comfortable and very clean. The sea view is absolutely worth it! A big thank you to Prosperous from housekeeping for the great work and kindness.
Thank you for everything. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying here.
Steakhouse is a highlight in the all inclusive package.
The beach is absolutely beautiful, with clear water and a really relaxed atmosphere, and the pool area is just as impressive — plenty of space, great vibe, and perfect for unwinding. The spa was also a highlight, such a nice place to properly switch off and relax.
Food-wise, it really exceeded expectations. Having multiple restaurants gave loads of choice, and everything was consistently good. The steakhouse in particular stood out — easily one of the best meals of the trip.
What really made the stay though was the staff. Everyone, from reception to the restaurant teams, was so polite, friendly, and welcoming. The level of hospitality was outstanding and made the whole experience feel effortless and enjoyable.
Overall, an amazing hotel with great facilities, fantastic food, and genuinely excellent service — would 100% go back.
This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had.
The hotel is extremely overrated and absolutely not worth the price. The food quality was very poor, very poor and repetitive, more like a cheap cafeteria than a resort restaurant. The whole place feels overcrowded, chaotic and badly maintained.
The atmosphere is loud and unpleasant, the service is mediocre, and overall the hotel feels mass-tourism oriented rather than a relaxing resort.
The location is nightmare, it’s windy and cloudy always and also the beach is dirty and rocky and waves.
Mauritius is beautiful, but staying here completely ruined the experience!!! I paid for tour here and moved to another hotel just to save my mood and see real Mauritius not this cheap all inclusive poor quality.
Stay: 28 February – 2 March | 2 rooms | All-inclusive | 4adults & 2 baby
We recently stayed at Hotel Riu Turquoise for a family getaway and overall our experience was good, but not outstanding.
✅ Positive points
The hotel has a beautiful setting with a very nice view and a well-designed, spacious environment. The structural layout of the property is impressive and the grounds are pleasant to walk around.
The swimming pool area is excellent, and the kids’ pool is particularly interactive and enjoyable for families with babies.
Food was one of the highlights — good variety and tasty throughout our stay.
Our rooms were small but cozy and comfortable, which was satisfactory for a short stay.
The bar service deserves special mention: cocktails were very well prepared, nicely balanced in flavour, and the barman was clearly skilled and professional.
❌ Points that need improvement
Unfortunately, the arrival experience was disappointing.
The welcome at reception was poor and lacked warmth. Staff training is clearly needed, especially for first impressions.
The luggage service was extremely poor — no guidance, no assistance, and no initiative unless you specifically asked. If things are not communicated, you are basically left on your own.
Service at La Galette was inconsistent:
On the first day we had a very welcoming and professional waitress.
The next day was the complete opposite — plates were removed before we had finished eating, without even asking, and the attitude felt rushed, clumsy and uncomfortable, as if the staff member was frustrated.
On our last day at lunch the service was again acceptable.
Another very unprofessional situation was when a housekeeping staff member asked my father for a tip before delivering the service, which gave the impression that service is only provided if tips are given.
📌 Management response
We raised our concerns during the stay. The reception manager and restaurant manager both came to apologise, which we appreciated, but no real corrective action followed.
⭐ Overall
The hotel has great potential — beautiful location, good food, nice pools and good bar service — but the lack of consistent staff training and poor arrival experience affected our stay.
With better professionalism and improved service standards, this hotel could easily move from good to excellent.
Wine options were poor quality. The white wine was very poor and on NYE got given an old white wine which couldn't be replaced
The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The food options were excellent with a good variety to keep everyone happy—including the kids! The entertainment team was fantastic, always full of energy and offering activities throughout the day.
What we loved most was how family-friendly the entire resort is. The kids had a great time at the pool and RUILand, and we could truly relax knowing they were enjoying themselves in a safe and fun environment.
Overall, our stay at Riu Turquoise was memorable, enjoyable, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommended for families looking for a stress-free and fun holiday experience!
We visited in November 2025 and can’t understand why this hotel doesn’t have a higher rating (currently 4.1).
We were looking for a “cheaper” option than the surrounding hotels while still staying close to Le Morne. Based on the average rating, we expected an average hotel — but we were pleasantly surprised throughout our stay!
Our personal highlight was the food.
The buffet was consistently exceptional and offered great options for vegetarians. The quality and variety were definitely comparable to those at more expensive 5-star hotels we’ve enjoyed in the past.
While it’s true that the beach directly in front of the hotel was windy on some days, you can always walk in either direction to find a more sheltered spot.
No beachfront (facing the West, South or East) offered wind protection at all times!
The gym was very small but had decent options for a gym enthusiast.
(However, there was no hamstring machine…)
Special thanks to the service team! They were always smiling, friendly, and very attentive.
