Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico Zocalo View in Mexico City

The hotel’s architecture is majestic and the location is very central. I booked a Junior Suite with a Zócalo view, and the rooms are fine.
However, being so close to the Zócalo, which is a celebration area, the outside noise is significant and can clearly be heard inside the rooms, especially when events take place after midnight, affecting rest.
The biggest issue was the front desk service, which leaves much to be desired. I requested an extended check-out and clearly stated that I was willing to pay a reasonable fee, even if it was just one additional hour. I spoke with three different staff members, all of whom gave contradictory answers: one never replied, another requested $1,000 USD, and others falsely claimed the hotel was sold out while rooms were available on the website.
This reservation was handled through the Special Events department, and the person who sold me the package never responded to my request. To make matters worse, both the morning and afternoon front desk staff were rude and dismissive.
During this same vacation, I stayed at two other hotels in Mexico City, where the service was completely different (180 degrees), with warm hospitality and excellent customer service, making the contrast with this hotel even more noticeable.
A very disappointing experience, considering the level and architecture of the hotel.
