Where to stay in Herceg Novi

This was our second visit in eight months, our previous visit having been in September 2025. The location of the hotel is magical, at the entrance of the Bay of Kotor and within easy reach of both Tivat and Dubrovnik airports. Great for cruise liner and super-yacht watching. We hired cars from both airports and found the drives straightforward, even with the land border crossing if coming from Croatia...

Lovely hotel, great location and range of facilities. Bedroom (14) was airy, clean and large. It did not have a sea view and was near the garbage area, so one morning garbage lorry arrived around 5.45am. The breakfast buffet offered incredible choices and you could also order omelette, poached eggs etc. We would happily recommend to others and we would stay there again.

Nice hotel, food expensive onsite

The hotel is new and elegant, and the reception is friendly. The rooms are a bit small. The rooms overlooking the sea are better than the rooms at the back, because the rooms at the back have a river or stream that needs maintenance and have a bad smell. I recommend the rooms overlooking the sea.

Second time here, but this time in a new building. Nice room, excellent soundproofing between rooms. Everything you need (water, tea, coffee capsules, slippers, robes…) is available. We had a room with a view of the bay, quiet and beautiful. The Internet was disconnected a couple of times, but this problem was quickly solved after contacting the reception. Convenient location of the complex. We lived in a residential building - the apartments are new, clean, large balcony, sea view.

Once marvelous complex,built approximately 40 years ago,still standing proud even though no investment or refurbishment has been done since it was built. Grandioso brutalist architecture is somewhat a reminder of the former glory and wealth of the 80s socialist Yugoslavia. Marvelous! It's not enough to say the food is delicious, it's fan-tas-tic! They even prepare wonderful vegetarian and vegan meals. The staff is so willing to please. I haven't tried the massages and therapies, but, considering their tradition, they must be the same quality as the food. Go there to enjoy!

Great hotel! Definitely recommend. Everything is very presentable and convenient. Breakfast in the restaurant with a sea view. Various delicious dishes. There is a wellness room with massage, shower, jacuzzi. Nice, clean pool. Private beach, sun loungers. The hotel staff does their job well, everyone is very polite. After check-out, you can leave your luggage and stay on the territory, swim.

Let me first say that the hotel itself was not lacking in any way in terms of the accommodations, staff and food. I had a spacious Deluxe Room with Sea View and couldn’t have been happier with it. The Perla was just an all around lovely experience. Both the breakfast and supper buffets were delicious, varied, and artfully displayed.

We’ve just returned from a wonderfully relaxing week at Hotel Perla in Herceg Novi – our first visit, but certainly not our last. This was our 3rd visit and each time we enjoy it more. We had a lovely room facing the sea, views were fabulous. Reception staff are excellent as are the cleaning staff , the hotel is spotless. We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Hedera Residences. Location is perfect very close to the sea with lots of amenities. Ana was a great Host along with the other staff they were always willing to help. Definitely would stay again.

A lovely hotel very clean and the rooftop terrace amazing! Check it out any time of day and you’ll get an amazing view. The beach access is good free sun beds and nice cafe on the water. This place definitely exceeded our expectations. Apartments are super nice and clean, balconies big with nice view. To the beach there is only 3 mins walk, and also there is a private beach for hotel guests. Spent half an hour trying to find the property. Bedding was very inferior. Hard mattress. Only sheets and no bed cover. Poor pillows. No access to the sea. Air conditioning worked good. Receptionist was very nice and helpful.

Nice breakfast, disappointing that despite being there for seven nights and on the first morning they run out of black tea and even though I mentioned this it was not restocked for the remainder of our stay and a shop 100 yards up the road sold it. Nice hotel with friendly staff. Very good breakfast with high quality. Access to garage. Otherwise parking in front of the hotel so it felt very safe. You have access to private beach and beach club (be aware that it’s a lot of steps to get there if you eventually have problems with that) with free sun beds. Location is by the main road so that’s the only backside but for us it wasn’t a big issue

Just stayed here for 5 nights and the hotel room and staff was amazing, staff were very helpful and dispite not getting many guest from the UK,which is common for the area, they all spoke very good English. Pleasant hotel on the outskirts of Heceg Novi, nice clean reception and rooms with modern facilities. Only downside is that the pool and spa doesn’t open until 6pm for a couple of hours and you have to notify the hotel if you plan on using it so they can prepare it. I wouldn’t class this as a spa hotel. Easy to get to the old town from here if you drive, but a bit out of the way. #montenegro #hercegnov

Me and my family visited hotel RR earlier today and were pleasantly surprised with great portion sizes, friendly staff and a brilliant atmosphere. situated on the Adriatic coast it’s a must visit if you’re in the area. This hotel is great if you want to get rest, its situated in the end of promenade so you have your peace at night away from clubs and peoples. Beach is in the front of hotel (200m), but we prefered to go in the center of Igalo which takes 20mins from hotel by walk. Very nice place! The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The hosts are really friendly and welcoming. The view is just spectacular. And the private deck is amazing. The only remark we have is that the breakfast is quite simple. Some more (vegetarian) options or different kinds of bread, toast, croissants... would be nice. But really recommend this place.

Hotel is renovated but it is not really good.Rooms are fine but ants are coming trough the holes on the windows and in some room sunblinds can't be closed becous they're broken.The food is ok , beach is near but there aren't any kiosks near only one gas station where you don't have much to buy.

We’re grateful to Hotel Ellena in Montenegro for welcoming us despite our late-night walk-in when we couldn’t enter Croatia. The breakfast fried eggs were delicious!

A beautiful hotel with a private parking! The room was clean, stylish and spacious, the bed was perfect with good pillows and a smart tv. Maksim is a great little place. Clean, nice people, well-located. A short walk to the small beach which is perfect for a little swim and then it’s easy to get to town. We were upgraded to a Seaview room with a large balcony, which we really appreciated. The manager Maja was excellent and very helpful, she also arranged a taxi on our departure. The room had a good view over the bay (although there was a derelict hotel just opposite the apartments)... the room was a reasonable size, however I found the bed uncomfortable as I could feel the springs in the mattress...

What a fabulous place to stay a few nights or a few weeks, like I did. Location, cleanness, service, very friendly helpful staff... this place has it all. Maja is doing a great job taking care of guests of Swiss Residente, even the most demanding ones, like myself :-) Beliana - who is only there during the high season - is very helpful and pleasant, always there to assist.
