Wow, what an amazing experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff was waiting to welcome us so warmly. The hotel itself is beautiful — every detail, piece of furniture, and design touch was clearly thought out with care. It truly feels like a boutique property: small, intimate, and very personal. Our host was incredibly kind and personable, making us feel right at home. Every staff member we met was wonderful — special thanks to Shasha for creating such a wonderful memory for us. The cook was also amazing, and we are grateful for the warmth and hospitality.
My husband had called ahead to share that we were celebrating our honeymoon and asked for a surprise room decoration. The host and staff went above and beyond, making it so special and unforgettable. What a lovely boutique hotel with history. Extremely personable staff and the owner’s sister was so kind and genuine. They prepared our room with a lovely bouquet of flowers, wine, and delicious desert for our honeymoon. Such a pleasant stay! The room was amazing and very spacious. Would definitely stay again! I wish I could give the staff Alex and Tea (?) ten stars. This cozy, immaculately clean and yet historical boutique hotel is one of our favourite stops yet. It is directly across from the ferry operations but somehow extremely quiet, the small pool had my son entertained for hours, the staff will provide poolside service with drinks, the homemade cookies on arrival are *delightful*, the breakfast is so so good i wouid dare say skip some traditional Montenegrin food at restaurants bc this hotel has the cheese, prosciutto, pate, Ajvar… PLUS they offer a (free!) a La carte.
I could go on and on about this hotel and the main reason is the people working there. They are outstanding: helping carry your luggage, reaching out ahead of time to see your plans, giving explicit parking instructions (so important in the Balkans). They have thought of everything. I cannot think of one area where improvement is needed. There are terrific dining options less than a 4 min walk down the road (and there are sidewalks!)
*Notable: parking is ＜2 min walk from hotel, and 80% of that includes no sidewalks and blind corners. So while you are walking on the road, drivers are good. Me and my son (11) felt safe.

Great property. Fantastic customer service. Staff was wonderful and room was beautiful and well maintained. Excellent food. Very good linens, mattress and pillows (I’m a bit picky in this way).
Hostess was amazing also. Very friendly and warm.
Overall a very, very good stay. This property will become very popular over the years. It was completely booked when I was there which was at the end of the season.
One thing to note is that the property is not super visible from the main road so keep an eye out for the two smaller signs that list Hotel Capintano on them.

I've never been to a hotel before where they give you such considered and personal service. Aleksandra and her team went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful and comfortable stay at Hotel Capitano. The hotel itself is tucked away by the ferry port - and just to say that the windows are good so you can't hear anything. I was a solo traveller and Aleksandra was kind enough to drive me herself to a nearby beach she recommended. Luka was fantastic and accommodating and very impressive with the languages he quickly changed through according to the guests. It's well worth having the dinner on the nights they offer it, the seafood is beautiful. And as a non- Chardonnay- liking person, I loved the Montenegrin Chardonnay! The staff help you find the best routes to the nearby places, like Perast and Herceg Novi, and it's a lovely home base to come back to. I chose this hotel because I saw other solo travellers had found it so lovely, and I'm glad I did the same, but there were lots of nice couples as well. Everyone was very polite and friendly to each other, while letting each other be. I couldn't recommend Hotel Capitano enough.

Great view over the bay and such a nice location right by the ferry, easy for exploring. Rooms are clean, comfortable and the breakfast is fresh and simple. Parking was easy which really helped since we had a car. The staff are the real highlight though — so friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. They really made the stay feel special. Would definitely come back.

Lovely hotel! The breakfast was exceptional, free private parking on site which was very important to us. Staff was always ready to help and the whole team is really lovely. They also offer laundry service and exceptional dining options which you should try out for sure! Better than most of the restaurants too! We all enjoyed our stay and will surely be back in the future.

The hotel’s poolside interior is lovely and offers a relaxing space. However, the location near a busy 24h ferry port means frequent noise from horns and whistles. Ambient music in the morning was audible from the rooms, which may bother light sleepers. Limited dining options and attractions nearby make a car or taxi necessary. Rooms and bathrooms feel dated, with older carpets and fixtures. Surprised by the high rating.

Stayed 5 nights at this amazing hotel. It was a little gem in the beautiful country of Montenegro. The staff were incredible. Nothing was too difficult. Their attention to detail was fantastic. Breakfast was superb, with a wide range of hot and cold options available. An evening meal was offered 3 times over the week and again this was delicious The hotel is on the main road, however once you are in the hotel or relaxing on the terrace by the pool you don’t notice any noise. A complete oasis of calm. We were offered an upgrade on our last night as it was our anniversary. Such a lovely touch and a sign of how much the staff work to ensure your stay is perfect. If you are considering staying. Do it, you won’t regret it. Thank you. We had a great holiday.
