Reviews
I had a wonderful stay at this lovely apartment located right in the heart of Kotor’s Old Town. The atmosphere is truly unique – surrounded by centuries-old stone walls, charming rustic decor, and a peaceful vibe that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, but with all the modern comforts.
The apartment was exceptionally clean, from the spotless bathroom to the perfectly made bed and fresh towels. Everything was in pristine condition, and you can really feel the attention to detail.
The apartment is also very well equipped – it includes comfortable slippers, a hairdryer, and all the little essentials you might need for a pleasant and carefree stay.
A special mention goes to the host, who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth, and they were always available if we had any questions or needed recommendations.
The location couldn’t be better – you’re just steps away from all the sights, restaurants, and charm of the Old Town, yet the apartment remains quiet and relaxing, offering a perfect place to unwind.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared stay in Kotor!
1. Unacceptable Host Conduct:
The property’s reputation relies on 'host helpfulness,' but our experience was the opposite. Upon arrival, we encountered a jammed main door—a significant access and safety concern. When I called the host ('D') to resolve this, instead of assistance, I was yelled at and berated over the phone. Being shouted at by a proprietor while stranded at check-in is professionally inexcusable. It set a distressing tone for the entire trip.
2. Micromanagement of Utilities:
Do not expect a comfortable long shower here. Hot water availability was severely limited. What makes this worse is the host’s controlling attitude toward the amenities; we were explicitly instructed not to touch the water heating geyser and forced to leave it on 'Eco mode.' You are effectively paying for a cold shower so the host can save a few cents on electricity.
3. Non-Functional WiFi:
If you need to work, check emails, or plan your itinerary, look elsewhere. The WiFi signal was dismal and practically unusable throughout our stay. In 2025, reliable internet is a basic requirement, not a luxury. The issue was thick stone walls but surely there are WiFi boosters out there that could have solved this issue ?
The Verdict:
Kotor is full of beautiful apartments with professional management. There is no reason to spend your money at a place where the internet doesn't work, hot water is rationed, and the host responds to legitimate issues with aggression. Avoid.
Thanks to Drazen. They let us leave our luggage until check-in.
The location in the old town is very convenient. A very pretty street and surrounding area.
The kitchen and utensils were generally sufficient for basic cooking.
The pillows and mattresses were comfortable.
A few downsides, which, however, didn't spoil the overall experience of our stay in Kotor.
There's a cafe with music downstairs across from the apartment. In the evenings, it was mostly quiet, very pleasant, and usually didn't bother me. I go to bed very late, but my husband didn't like it as much (if you go to bed early or have trouble falling asleep, it can be disturbing). But one Friday night, it was incredibly loud and continued until 1:00 AM.
I would also recommend using duvet covers instead of sheets under the covers! There wasn't much space to hang clothes. (((- the photo shows a clothes rack. That's all.
) The apartment is clean and tidy, but... you have to take out the trash yourself. The cleaning lady didn't come to our place during our 5-night stay, even though we were told the towels would be changed every 3 days. They didn't. If guests are supposed to clean the apartment themselves, that's fine, but it would have been logical to provide some cleaning supplies, like napkins/dustpan/brush/mop. I wouldn't buy all of them myself for a short stay.
If you're staying outside the warmer months, the tiled floor feels cold in the evenings when it's already cool outside. It's better to bring warm socks and slippers. This isn't even a drawback, but rather a nice touch of staying in an old stone house during the off-season.
But for a few days' stay during the quiet off-season, we were generally happy with everything. ))) Very colorful, a wonderful old town, an interesting experience! Thank you!
It was impossible to sleep, no one told us there will be music, even when the host came to greet us.
While the location is in the middle of the old town, service and location wise it was very bad.
