Description

Hôtel Central Palace is a two-star hotel in Marrakech offering a range of room types from Economy to Suite. The property features basic amenities including WiFi, laundry services, a garden, and a terrace. Guests have access to a 24-hour front desk and a tour desk to help plan their visits. While some rooms come with private bathrooms, many guests report issues such as lack of hot water and shared bathroom facilities. The hotel accepts pets but the policy states pets are not allowed. Payment methods include major credit cards like MasterCard and Visa. The hotel was built some time ago and has signs of wear, with some rooms described as small and outdated. Despite these drawbacks, the staff frequently receives praise for being helpful and multilingual.

Location

Situated at 59 Sidi Bouloukate Medina, Hôtel Central Palace is just a few minutes’ walk from the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, making it convenient for visitors to explore Marrakech’s main attractions on foot. The hotel is approximately 4 km from Menara Airport (RAK). Nearby dining options include Earth Café 186 meters away with positive reviews, and other eateries like KFC Jamaâ El Fna and Le Salama within 300 meters. The location is considered a strong point by many travelers for easy access to the medina and local markets.

  • Choose rooms carefully as some are small and outdated; requesting a room on a higher floor may reduce street noise.

We stayed here for 3 nights, and the only unpleasant thing about these days in Marrakech was actually staying here...
We booked and were assigned different rooms. Terrible, cramped, and very old.
The staff was arrogant and unhelpful.
A friend was given a room on the first day, but nothing worked.
No hot water in almost all the rooms we booked.
My friend had souvenirs stolen from a drawer.
Everything was wrong. I absolutely do not recommend it.
Worst accommodation.

Location it’s great if you want is to close to the medina and the Jemaa el-fnaa square, it’s also very easy to take your from there. People were very nice and helpful providing suggestions about where to eat and where to and not to visit. Rooms are very simple but clean.

I got one of the most expensive room available here which had its own bathroom, etc. there were no good amenities here, the bathroom was not functional so we had to use shared bathroom. The first room we got was not able to be locked from inside, and luckily they had a different room. Inside the room there were no usual things, not even a kettle to warm water. It is extremely loud and walls are as thin as paper so you won’t be able to sleep even with ear plugs. The staff was helpful but that is not enough when they are charging so much money. Also breakfast is a scam, they get food from adjacent small restaurant and give it for 5 euro. That restaurant charges 4 euro. And the room was extremely cold compared to outside which was a disaster for winter months, and AC do not heat the room. Location was the only thing good about this hotel.

This hotel is a scam.

After a 10-hour flight and a 4-hour train ride, my wife and I arrived at the hotel, only to be suddenly asked for a marriage certificate, which the owner claimed was required for check-in.

We have visited over 25 countries, including Muslim-majority countries, and have never been asked for this before and never carry the certificate with us. We even tried to prove our life together with photos and shared history, but we were then forced to cancel our booking.

It is clear that this demand is selective and discriminatory, targeting certain couples rather than being a standard policy.

Later, we discovered that this hotel scams guests. They collaborate with cheap, low-quality riads and use the “marriage certificate” excuse to redirect guests elsewhere at a higher price. In reality, our room had already been sold to someone else before our arrival.

The reception staff were rude, unprofessional, and stressed us, completely ruining our mood after such a long journey.

During our 8 days in Morocco, no other hotel or riad asked for a marriage certificate, and it appears that this supposed rule applies only to Moroccan couples, not foreign tourists.

When my wife politely suggested that if this policy was so important, the hotel should inform guests in advance, the receptionist became extremely rude and hostile toward her.

We strongly do not recommend staying at this hotel. It is dishonest, discriminatory, and unprofessional.

The location is ideal for a new tourist. It allows you arrive late at night with no problem from the main attractions. The price is amazing and the staff was extra helpful and friendly. They can help you in any language and the breakfast was good. It might not be the most luxurious but it will do just fine for the regular tourist who just comes to sleep.

The place is stunning! It s just 3 minutes walking from Jaama AlFna square and it is not noisy at all. The Hotel is clean and comfy. The Staff Abdu,, Moustafa and all the ladies are super nice, friendly and happy to give you a lot of recommendations. We chose a quadruple room, it was not the best but we slept very well.

I stayed there for four nights, attracted by good reviews. I had a double room, with a private bathroom. The room was small, spartan in appearance, but clean. Simple furniture, big signs of wear and tear everywhere. The doors to the toilet and shower didn't close properly, the light bulb above the sink didn't work. There wasn't even a towel rack in the shower. There was a TV in the room, but the remote control didn't work. Anyway, I didn't need it... There was also an air conditioner that seemed quite "tired". It wasn't needed, the temperature in the room was OK. You can't pay by card - another minus. The biggest minus, however, was the noise. The window of the room (old type, so it doesn't isolate well from any point of view) opens onto a narrow canyon-like street, where there are a few other similar hotels and a small shop. Scooters also pass by on the street. It's noisy until late, around 01:00. I stayed on the 1st floor, maybe the 2nd floor would be a little better, although I don't think so. On the positive side, we can mention the location, close to a shopping street and the Jemaa el Fna market. Also, the guys at the reception are great. Conclusion: The hotel looks better in the pictures than in reality, but it's an option to consider due to the location and the friendly staff.

Everything was great, we really liked it because it was close to everything and the guys at the reception help you with everything. I highly recommend it. I advise you to buy the excursions with them because they are at a very good price and we are sure that we felt like family. Thank you very much for everything.

I had booked a room in this hotel for my first night in Marrakech. It was a double room for me and my boyfriend, we are both italians with italian passports, but my boyfriend has an arabic last name which was apparently common in Morocco. The receptionist forced us to cancel our reservation because apparently it was against moroccan law and left us with no option than find another Hotel. He suggested a Riad that would do us a favor as apparently we were against the law. The new hotel tried to charge us double the prize of the first one even if it was all dirty, old and basically empty. Turns out, the receptionist was just trying to fool us, as the Hotel was overbooked and he did not have the room we had booked. In fact, as all the other hotels and Riads we stayed at in Morocco, they told us that having a foreign passport, moroccan laws cannot be applied. This is what I tried to tell the boy since the beginning but he insisted that even of the passport was italian, my boyfriend had a Moroccan name and only that was enough to break the law that forbids unmarried moroccan citizens to book and sleep in the same room with a person of the opposite sex. So he forced us to cancel out reservation and left us with no other choice than stay at the Riad he suggested which was squallid.

I'm not a vegetarian or vegan but accompanied one to the Earth Cafe for my first vegetarian meal and have to say what a lovely place it is. The food was very good and the service excellent. The building interior is fascinating with a central staircase leading to various rooms on different levels where you can choose to eat your meal. I will come back to the Earth Cafe!

Loved the food. It is a bit on the expensive side. But, great for vegetarians.
13.12.2017 Liz
Very good vegetarian and vegan foods for reasonable prices. Staff was very friendly.

Great vegetarien food. Expensive, but it was a nice experience. Perfect place for vegans and vegetariens when you get tired of vegtable tangines
25.11.2017 Maria
It's definitely sort of expensive compared to other places in Marrakech. They have a menu option for 100 dhs (meal + dessert + tea) and you can get food and a decent tart from a nearby patisserie for less than 50 dhs. I had the vegan burger and yep, it doesn't come with a bun. I asked for some bread and they said they don't have any, but then brought a bun. Would be better if they just served it together from the start... (Stupid me thought the bun was dessert, cos they cut it up) The apple tart was delicious though! And the 'burger' wasn't bad too, but definitely would prefer a traditional on-the-bun with some tomato-lettuce-onion.

Big peaces of chicken in to much fry. Not very tasty and the food was dry and probably layed a long time on the shelf before being served.
03.12.2017 Ernesto
low rating influenced mainly by the location (which was busy, unclean and with nasty smell mainly from the poop of horses)
22.11.2017 Francis
Service is quite slow, that usually seems to be the case in Marrakech though so nothing new there. As far as the food goes, it wasn't brilliant and nothing to write home about but it is what it is and fast food doesn't tend to be that different away from home anyway, the main downside was that the prices seem to be quite expensive for what we got and it seemed to be more like UK prices that Moroccan.

Not good food and not clean restorant

Not the best KFC, tried it on 2 occasions as first experience wasnt great so thought wed give it the benefit but 2nd visit didnt fare any better. Staff should learn to smile as well. KFC by the station is better.

Came here for drinks and some hookah. Nice happy hour prices. Good hookah. Just not so great service

What a great vibe this place has! Three stories and each story has its own unique feel to it. I can’t speak of the food because I only had tea and wine, but this is most definitely one of my favorite places in Marrakech. Aside from the incredible decor, the music and service are phenomenal! If Anas is your server, be sure to strike up a conversation with him. He is very sweet and remembered who I was every time I came back which is always so nice in a foreign place. Oh, and did I mention 2 for 1 happy hour drinks at every hour?! Wine not? ;)
12.12.2017 Anya
Nice trendy bar, serves alcohol (!) at a reasonable price (65dh for two 330ml bottles of beer on the "happy hour" - which is all the time. Can't be shared.) Staff are nice enough.
02.12.2017 Idriss
It would have been 5 stars if they didn't refuse to let us in because they don't serve Moroccans... Twice in different times. I only wanted to go there again because the first time was with a group of foreigners and not sure if they forgot about me or something but I really liked it there, 360 view, great atmosphere, nice drinks/prices, good service,... If you're not moroccan, Go!
08.11.2017 Chyna
Food was tasty, 360° view was awesome, decor/ambiance was nice, and alcohol is available (hard to find in Marrakech), but prices were a bit high for the area.
