The room charges a fair price and is conveniently located downtown, near Myanmar Plaza.

Health: good
Environment: good
Service: good
Good location. Close to the main road but in a quiet location. The price is cheap.
This hotel is okay, the front desk service is good, but the surrounding configuration is not very good, you can take a taxi when you go out to the main road, but it usually doesn't stop, it's better to call a taxi on your mobile phone
Yangon, 15, 17 Shwe Taung Tan St, Lanmadaw Township (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
The hotel's location is close to downtown. The room was alright, but not very soundproof. You could hear the cleaning staff in the next room. The bathroom didn't separate the wet and dry areas, and the floor in the shower area was slippery; I had to wear flip-flops to avoid slipping. When I checked in, I noticed the toilet paper was almost out, but they didn't replace it with a new roll, leaving the...
Great location, rooms are abit small but good pick for solo traveller. Would book again.
I think at all the Hotel is very nice and the stuff is friendly.
It’s clean and you have everything you need in the room.
For me was just the location not the best, a poor area
but I would book the hotel again
Nice hotel about 30 min walk from from tourist center
Balmi Hotel is located in the heart of the city, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the room was reasonably clean, offering a comfortable stay.
However, I did encounter an issue that needs attention. I spotted two small cockroaches during my stay. While this did not ruin my experience, it needs to improve pest control measures. Addressing this would...

The building is old, but the staff were very kind, which was great.
Clean, friendly helpful staff, quiet on high floors. Reasonable local breakfast.Wifi good, cable TV sucks, fridge hot shower etc. Yeah, can be inexpensive 2nd home
Clean and decent hotel. Many food/drinks venues around, lively surroundings but get quiet after 22. Plenty of taxis
friendly and helpful host.
Room clean and tidy.
Worth with price.
Far from crowd, peace.
A good value hotel. Included breakfast was tasty. The location is good, easy to walk to everywhere. Very small rooms. The service was good.

I had an exceptional stay at the Wyndham Grand Yangon. As a business traveler, I truly appreciated the seamless service and the high standard of cleanliness throughout the property. The location is ideal, and the amenities provided everything I needed to stay productive and relaxed. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Yangon for work or leisure.
Room is big andclean, nice view, convenient.
I loved it. Amazing location, gorgeous hotel, helpful staff, nice views (see attached photo), wonderful swimming pool and small but functional fitness. I was planning to visit Yangon on the weekend but loved the hotel so much that I have spent most of the time resting, swimming, training and enjoying massage in their Spa (Nadia). Highly recommended and only 20-25 minutes to the airport.
Hotel is one of the best in yangon. Service is good and beside the hotel have a shopping mall
This is the only hotel I stay in when visiting Yangon, the staff are super friendly and the facilities are very well maintained. The spa is a must visit, the gym is small but more than enough for your needs, and the large pool is very clean. The breakfast buffet have many options, dimsum, local burmese dishes, and western dishes. They also have an out deck bar with a decent view. There is a mall right...
It's a really great hotel.
We had a lake view room, and it was fantastic.
The staff are really friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Alainmar in the restaurant - great coffees.
The hotel is well presented and clean. The gym is pretty good. The breakfast is top notch.
The only issue I had, and it's quite important for me, was the wifi was not very good.
It s so nice place to stay for trip myanmar. Clean facilities kind and well trained staffs. Also have a spa too
New and nice n clean hotel..room are small.
Front office manager is very rude to customer. Not understand about service industries...
I feel sorry for the owner of hotel..
Very accommodating staffs , will bend to much extreme to make my day good.
Appreciate the cook made a special vegetarian dish for my vegetarian guest from Thailand and Korea.
I love the massage of Seoul Hotel Myanmar. The korean breakfast is great. The staff are so helpful

The hotel amenities and cleanliness can be improved with more new furniture amd carpet. The service of the staff is good. The hotel is near to junction city.
Before to visit Myanmar I read many reviews and they told that staff at reception can help to book tickets for bus. In this hotel only one girl spoke English when I was checking in but when I come and ask to help me with bus ticket booking nobody could help. The people who were on reception had very poor English. I spent half of the day to buy ticket.
And location is a bit far from center. I recommend...
The staff were very accommodating, from the receptionists to housekeeping💙
I stayed here for only one day as I extended my trip by a day. Don’t expect too much from the amenities, as the hotel is half the price of others with similar facilities—which is why it’s a good option😊
The breakfast buffet had limited options but was still decent —- They have a section where you can ask a staff member to...
Comfy room and big bathroom (the shower is amazing!). The WiFi is very unstable. There a lot of options for the breakfast, but the western section isn’t so good (at least they have bread and eggs). The YaYa’s menu is delicious, and the room service is fast. All the staff is very helpful.
A nice hotel, with friendly front desk staff. This hotel has an excellent gym, the breakfast is nice. Its close to St John's Mall.
Recommended
Good service, clean room, reasonable price, grocery store and embassy nearby.

Quiet environment and wide view of Shwedagon pagoda. Clean rooms with friendly customer services. There is a Restaurant an roof top bar with reasonable price. Should go there and enjoy. Families with kids are also welcome .
We stayed here during the Myanmar leg of our wedding. The hotel staff made sure everything we needed was made available. They were so accommodating and friendly. The rooms were really nice, spacious and clean but could do with a little modernization but for the price charged it was an absolute winner. The view at the top where we had our ceremony was absolutely stunning. Great view of Yangon and Shwedagon...
The quiet place and the view from room is as you see in picture.
Myanmar's signature, Shwe Dagon Pagoda can be seen even not from roof top.
Feel the scenery of Kandawgyi+Shwe Dagon+Green Plants makes me worth to pay.
The room is also clean and wide enough.
The breakfast can be seen in the photo.
Great place for staycation without swimming pool and stay in a room to read a book or watching movies.
It's a hidden gem of affordable accommodation on a quiet lane May Mauk Road. It's about 10 minutes walk from Royal Garden Chinese restaurant. It's another new hotel that offers comfortable mattresses, pillows, new linen blankets. I booked the smallest sized room at USD 27 from booking dot com and the room is much better than the price I have paid for.
Impressive.
Bathroom has a separate shower area...
The best hotel ever! The place is gorgeous, clean and upscale with an amazing view from the rooms. People are very nice and polite with great hospitality and warm gesture. The service is top notch and you feel welcomed like your own home. The best thing is its very peaceful atmosphere and happy vibes with an add-on magnificent view of Shwedagon pagoda. Rooms are normal. Service is also okay.
The place is a grace with splendor and majestic in the morning but in the evening after the sun is gone, the place turns creepy. All the staff are smiling at you as if they know something about you. Some people will smoke and ignore you. And it's creepy and chilling like the dark cornor of something unknown. But wait, the rooms are so good and its a true value for money. Rooms are clean and good overall
Nice and Good Place in Yangon Down Town

I made a reservation for 2 nights and showed them the receipt for the credit card payment, but they said they couldn't verify it so I had to pay in cash!
Front desk service was awful.
Great place for a budget stay in downtown Chinatown but still feel secure and good because they don't have day section room services. Available single bedrooms and those are the rare things in most of the hotels. Cleaned even though it's a little small. Breakfasts were good. It's a nice walk to stroll around Chinatown especially in the evening. Will stay next time too.
Absolutely fantastic. Leo and his colleagues were so helpful and friendly. I can't thank them enough. The breakfast staff were very accommodating. The front counter staff helped me book buses and other translation issues I had. They didn't charge me any extra and always helpful to me.
easily accessible, good breakfast, best service and the best budgeted hotel in downtown.wifi connection is not so good. But highly recommended.
- Bad breakfast
- Bad Wifi
- You can hear the rats in the wall when you sleep.
Rooms are not that bad, and the staff tries to make the best of it.
Room are clean and quiet, staff also nice and kind. Breakfast perfectly fine, good location for shopping.

It's a very good hotel in many ways.
It's close to the airport, so it's ideal for people who have a flight the next day.
The downside is that there are no restaurants or shopping spots nearby.
It takes about 5 to 8 minutes to get to 10 Mile, where you can find restaurants and shopping.
It was convenient because it was close to the airport. The staff were very kind.
I stayed there for 3 nights. Rooms were good for price of USD 18. I booked room using Agoda. I did not like the breakfast. Hotel also have parking available. It is also quite near to a good restaurant.
The rooms were moldy and not very clean. The bathroom did not have any water pressure for the shower. The price was very economical and location very close to the airport.

No lift. Limited breakfast option.
The hotel is very well located near a big shopping center and Chinatown. The rooms are well equipped but there is no lift to the reception (1st floor) or higher floors. The staff are really friendly and helpful.
The Hotel is located in the heart of Yangon. The rooms are very pretty and clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Should you have any troubles with your travels there is also a nice lady that works in a little travel office in the Hotel
I really like the building and furniture in this hotel. I chose a room with a window overlooking the city, perfect. The bedrooms and facilities are also very attractive. I also really like the bathroom, it's interesting. Breakfast with good taste on the top floor. Oh yes, hotel owner and staff are very friendly and help us in many ways. Thanks.
Great little hotel, centrally located. Small rooms, but comfortable, gotta walk up the steps to your floor. Internet sucks but in Myanmar, that's what you must expect... buy a SIM at the airport! Breakfast is nice - not a buffet, but 3 choices that include eggs, porridge, fruits, pastries, juice, etc.
Improve cleanliness and backup electricity in case of power outages, having to walk up and down from the 7th floor to the ground floor.
It's close to the airport, so I used it the day before I returned home.
I really liked the fact that I was able to negotiate a way to get to the airport from a short walk from the hotel for exactly 10,000 Ks.
On the day I stayed there, there was a five-hour power outage from 5am to 10am, so I woke up to a hot room, and it was muggy afterwards and I had a hard time knowing when the power would be restored...
No electricity during day
Did not use their generator
Food is not good

The power outage made the room hot, the elevator stopped working, and I was tired going up and down the stairs. There was no food, so it was inconvenient. I was glad that the receptionist who was there last year was still there.
The Hotel is just fine as others, the Apple Bar and KTV is also incredible. The night club is most convenient place for the one who need. The place is quiet and the view are vivid because it lies on the highest place in Insein township.

I spent 7 days at this hotel. Here are the main pros and cons:
Pros:
— Breakfast included (buffet style).
— Two bottles of water were provided daily.
— A quiet and peaceful hotel.
— Friendly and polite staff.
Cons:
— Shared shower (but this was stated upfront).
— The breakfast was almost the same every day and not always replenished. It's best to go around 7:30–8:00 AM, otherwise, the food might...
Very nice hotel to stay I. Yangon with good price and good breakfast... the localisation is near the street food Chinatown
It is such a nice hostel, well located not far away from Main Street with bars but so quiet. Also stuff are very nice and pleasant
Great location, friendly staff, and a tasty breakfast! No elevator, and the shared bathroom is acceptable for the price.
Friendly staff location is easy worth the price that your paying

The room was very clean. I'll definitely stay at this hotel again next time.
Pretty solid hotel for the price, only bad part is the breakfast is pretty dissapointing.
Wonderful hotel with amazing staff, the service is really great and an amazing sky bar
First time staying here for a business trip, and my overall impression is: the facilities are quite new, the environment is good, breakfast is plentiful, and it offers great value for money. Plus, there's no traffic congestion, making it convenient for getting around and to the airport.
The room didn't have any tissues or a comb. The exhaust fan in the shower was terrible, making the air circulation poor. There were also no beer glasses.
Clean and decent hotel for my business trip. Will be back to this hotel again.

Had an amazing time at Governor’s residence with my son Charlie and family. Beautiful surroundings in a peaceful location in the heart of the diplomatic quarter. The staff were fantastic and the rooms extremely comfortable. Highly recommend, will definitely return when in Yangon.
I have just spent 3 nights at the Governor’s Residence hotel in Yangon. It has been spectacular, the old colonial style building with teak floors and beautiful gardens creates a miniature Raffles atmosphere.
This is ‘gem’ of a hotel, tucked away in the diplomatic quarter of the city. It’s a must visit location. If you want a classic Burmese hotel, this is the place. Quality service, the staff are...
Had a lovely time here. We ordered coffee, pasta, mushroom pastry and lime soda. Everything tasted really good. The flavors are gentle but well-done, and portions are satisfying.
Just a note:
• If you go for à la carte, you’ll need to order by yourself from the menu.
• But on weekdays during lunch and dinner, they also have set menus, so it’s more convenient and you don’t have to think too much about...
We have recently stayed at the Governor’s Residence for 6 nights and cannot recommend this historic hotel highly enough.
It is a beautiful building, in such a peaceful setting and in an excellent location for site seeing.

Review of the Governor’s Residence, Yangon
The Governor’s Residence in Yangon is a luxury hotel set in a beautifully restored 1920s teak mansion. Once the home of a colonial governor, it now offers guests a rare mix of history, elegance, and modern comfort. Located in the peaceful Embassy Quarter, it feels like a tranquil retreat away from the city’s noise.

Despite of staff does their best, the hotel is terrible. Everything is old and dirty. The linens and towels should be thrown out and put new ones. There is no hot water. And I saw many cockroaches.
It’s budget friendly. You paid your worth.
Reasonable good, clean and friendly.
The hotel phone could not be reached, and Ctrip later refunded the full amount
Accommodation in Yangon. Although it is not luxurious, the staffs are very friendly and always help us with everything, even helping us negotiate taxi fares. Since we are foreigners, we often encounter very high taxi fares. This saves us a lot of money.
We stayed here 2 nights. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was very clean, just the floor could be a little bit cleaner. One tube in the bathroom was leacking. There were 2 towels per person, a comfortable bed, a small table with a chair, 2 bottles of water and we got a welcome drink when we arrived :) Also there is a TV and an air conditioning which was working but apparently it was not possible...
