Excellent location (close to a supermarket; many restaurants and cafes nearby) 👍

The restaurant and bathroom were clean, tidy, and well-equipped; staff were friendly and welcoming.

The kitchen on the first floor has no windows, so it felt a bit stuffy.

Quirky building and well located, with lots of local info and very attentive staff. Superb amenities, and private parking spaces. Room was good value for money when considered against some of the other places we have stayed on our NZ trip. Recommend!

Location is excellent with lot of cafes and restaurants.
I took the Intercity coach which dropped off at the tourist information site. From there it is a less than 5 minutes straight walk and then turning right to reach the hostel.
Very friendly and helpful receptionist however do note it is closed at 6pm.
Toilet and shower areas are very clean despite huge group during my stay. Shower gel and towel are provided which is great for me.
I stayed in private single room which is good enough for me.
Have kitchen with fridges, microwaves, stoves , utensils, pans , cleaning soap…… paid washing machines.
U can parked your luggage after checkout for free.
Walking distance to Rotorua Central Mall which has a food court and McDonald n KFC for slightly cheaper meal options.
Entrance to hostel are always locked with passcode thus felt safe .
I will definitely stay there if I am in Rotorua.

Location is at the centre of Rotorua. Many travellers from the world stayed here. Communal kitchen was well equipped. Recommended

good location-- near a lot of shops. Free parking in front of the building but only until 9am. If you want to park in the building, parking fee is $5. Good stay overall.

We stayed 3 nights in a private room at Rock Solid. The first room we got assigned was just below the lounge area and given the walls are so thin it really seemed like a group of people was in our room. The manager was very nice and moved us into a different room- walls still thin but at least in a different location vs the first room. The common areas are big and clean + you get 50% discount on the climbing wall gym which we used!

It wasn't very tasty and when they brought over the pizza, before we even saw the pizza, we got told that the reason it was burnt was because we asked for no mushrooms. Seemed strange to be blamed when we hadn't even complained.

Although the pizza was ok, nothing about it was fantastic, it was the dirty dark shop and lack of attention that put me off the most. Tables were dirty as well as the tatty menus. I have definitely had better experienced better Hell shops and service.

We have been here a number of times when visiting Rotorua and consistently get good pizza, on time and great service. Always happy to grab pizza from here!

Kiosk ordering is fine but when order is delivered and an item is missing the rest of the meal goes cold while you queue to sort out the missing item.

The best flat while coffee I have ordered over the last 5 years. Bacon & Egg McMuffin superb! My husband just said "tastiest hash brown". Looks like we will back ?

Bad service, overpriced food and their soup is a disgrace to Chinese dish. The soup they served is totally cold. We asked them to re-heat. But they came back with soup that is barely warm. The broth is not thick as the dish should be, it is bland and taste of detergent. Having said that, I must say their braised pork belly is good. If only it could be hotter. When I feedback on the standard of their soup, there was no apologies, only pure defensiveness. Can give this restaurant a pass.

Sometimes their pork and duck are juicy,tasty.
Sometimes they are not.
Dry and hard to chew.
No stable guaranteed quality.
You just believe your luck. Thats all u can do if u want to eat this random taste resto.
Today i bought pork and it is fuxxing dry,tasteless.
