Our hosts are a lovely couple with a wealth of information. Placed on top of a hill with a great view. Our room was delightful and breakfast was delicious. Would love to return.

The view alone is worth it. You can see the whole city from a garden with a cat, alpacas and little ducklings. But the best part has to be the hosts. Very kind, considerate and well informed about the area and many other topics. Would definitely have stayed longer if we could!

Stunning location, beautiful views across the valley and lovely alpacas to greet you over the fence! David and Grace were very hospitable and gave us lots of information. All sorts of homemade jams and cakes for breakfast (cereal and toast also) and a soak in the hot tub. Just lovely,

Set outside of Rotorua’s center, this appart/hotel offers comfort, quiet and space. Not ideal without a car.

City Lights Boutique is a treat on the hillside overlooking Rotorua. David & Grace are gracious hosts, with expert knowledge of the area. They are accommodating & friendly, but also caring. They care about the local community. Their boutique is comfortable, has stunning views, and nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfasts are fabulous, and David, you're a star with your homemade baking. As for Grace, she has a heart of gold. Thank you for a fabulous time.

We loved our stay at City Lights. David and Grace are great hosts and the property is lovely. Our room was beautifully presented with lots of nice extra touches. As well as the many activities in Rotorua, we enjoyed chilling out in the garden on the sofa and using the Hot Tub. It’s a short drive into town for dinner but we were so glad we stayed at City Lights.

Excellent boutique hotel in a great location just out of town. David and Grace are fabulous hosts, with great knowledge of local things to do. Great room overlooking Rotorua - although on the small side - was furnished to a very high standard. Highly recommended

We stayed in the cottage for 3 nights. We had a warm welcome, and we got lots of great advice. We fed the alpaca's and could wake up with them every morning. The cottage has a great view over the city. We had everything we needed and really enjoyed our time here. Thanks for the great stay.

The views from the common area were beautiful. However, our room was tiny, no space to move about in at all. The breakfast provided was good but the spread somewhat stingy. You had to ask for that second cup of coffee for example, and the cold cuts and cheeses platter looked meager.
