Sol y Mar Apartments in Cala Bona

This shitshow is the worst place to be. It deserves 0 stars. Our room was not ready, so we waited 3h. Still not ready, another hour. After we finally were able to check in, nothing was cleaned, we had no towels and our balcony had a second door (not locked) to our neighbor (a stranger). After another 2h of discussing our room was at least not a threat to our health anymore. The free wifi of this apartment is only referring the wifi in the lobby. The breakfast is utterly disgusting, same with the pool. The beach 100m away is a rocky shore.
After cleaning hour all our towels were missing without them being exchanged. And on sunday the lobby is closed/ no receptionist is there. We are 3 friends, but only received one key and a second one (totally useless. Not even the staff knows what it's for).

Overall opinion: This hotel is overpriced.

Check in was underwhelming. No warm welcome. No information about the area. Not even directions to the room.

The apartment was large but basic. The beds were comfortable, cleaning was almost daily. Towels were only changed if you caught the cleaner and requested it. (The cleaning staff at least were friendly!)

We paid extra for a seaview... this was by far the best thing about the apartment.

The staff in general were not friendly or welcoming. They never even looked up when you passed reception. There was a big leak in the breakfast room on our 5th day. This left us without water while they fixed it. Ok, not their fault. After that we spent the next 2 days with no hot water. When we told the guy on reception he said we were the only people to report a problem and he offered no solution. He didn't offer to send someone to take a look, or suggest we use the shower in another room (it's COVID times and the hotel was far from full).

The breakfast was average. We skipped it more than half the time as it gets boring. And the breakfast room is hot. Not air-conditioned and the ceiling fans were not turned on (possibly due to COVID restrictions).

At check out we handed over the key, the receptionist ticked our names off a list, and that was that. He didn't ask us about our stay, requested no feedback, didn't thank us for our visit and barely even said goodbye!

It seems this hotel is used to having guaranteed clientele, in a popular tourist area I'm sure they are usually fully-booked and they have no need to make an extra effort. But given the current circumstances, and the fact that this was one of the only hotels in the area actually open for business, the lack of customer service was a real let down.
