Hostal La Paloma I in Calpe

Day trip to Calpe, some friends invited us to have couple of drinks around so we decided not to drive back to Valencia. Called las Palomas I around 9 o'clock to see if there was any available rooms. Very messy comunication to try and book in advance. Asking me to send details trough WhatsApp then saying, "no need for that". "Just poop in when you want the room" . Then confusing me with Las Palomas 1 and Las Palomas 2 opening times when.... I just wanted to make sure I could show up before midnight and not sleep in the streets. She said yes yes yes... Probably not understanding me properly in Spanish.
In the end we showed up thinking we had a room a bit before midnight, big surprise when calling and the same person says we are in the wrong place (Paloma I closes earlier than Paloma II), when I clearly specify I needed Paloma I as it was next to our friends house... Knowing it was closing early we would get a booking somewhere else. As Paloma II was in a bad location for us, but she wanted us to walk all the way to Palomas II claiming it was my mistake. Finally we got a taxi and got a different Hotel. Can't complain about the place as we did not go in. But the customer service trying to get a room and once we were outside.... Horrible... Bad communication and very poor service.

Paid 166 euros for two nights. We found the place disappointing, selected it based on reviews. Reception staff was not friendly, and told us that we got a room with no view, terrace & two seperate beds as we were the last to check in, despite having booked 4 months in advance. The next morning we arrived at 10.05 for breakfast, we were told that breakfast was served untill ten.....no sorry...no exceptions. When we came home we found that the cleaner had opened all windows and left them open, leavind our valuables up for grabs for everybody walking by the hotel!

Will pay a bit more next time & book something else!

Small room

Stayed there in the summer, prices were absolutely bonkers for what you get. Room was small and cramped, as was everything else it's like they tried to fit too many things in one place. Location-wise it's not very good, it's quite a walk to the city center and beaches considering the altitude difference.
