Reviews
The horror you will face is trying to go to the pool. It is truly, as others have stated, the hunger games. It is shared with another hotel and opens at 10:00 am. You have to be in line by 9:00 am to get a chair, and even then, people rush past those who have been standing in line for an hour just to steal your chairs. The floor around the pool is as slippery as soap and we witnessed a child slip and hit the back of his head so hard that we suggested taking him to the hospital. The staff confessed that many people had broken limbs from falls around this terrible pool where hundreds of rude people crowd into.
The buffet was generous but extremely mediocre. You would think that in Spain, known for its marvelous cuisine, better offerings would be served. The bread and the fruit were great but the rest, was third rate.
You are given ONE beach towel for your entire stay. If you want a fresh one, you will not only be chastised, you will be charged one Euro for it. We attempted to order room service the first night since we had been traveling for almost 19 hours and I had to, physically, head down to reception since no one picked up the phone anywhere. It took almost an hour to get it and it arrived cold.
However, if what you are looking for is a lovely beach and direct access to it, this was the best part of this hotel. The beach chairs have to be paid for separately but they are plentiful and managed by the marvelous and lovely Monica. She was a true joy!
The facilities are clean and room cleaning service was excellent.
It shares a pool with another hotel, Playa Linda, which makes the pool area beyond over crowded and the process of trying to find a chair in the morning impossible and cut throat. Additionally, the flooring on the pool deck is impossibly slippery, so even adults walking were slipping all over, and we watched a child absolutely wipe and smack her head hard against the tile.
While it’s nice that food is offered multiple times during the day through the all-inclusive, much of it looks unappetizing, tasteless, overcooked, and repurposed. You’d think paying €600 a night essentially would at least allow you to have fresh pool towels, but not. You get a set of towels at the beginning of your stay and then you have to pay a euro each time you want to exchange to get a new towel. It’s ridiculous!
We also found most of the staff rude and unwelcoming. My mother and I are both native Spanish speakers and the amount of rude tones and eye rolls we got when we spoke was unbelievable. The staff we did find helpful and kind were Gery and Belen at the front desk. Alexis was the only chef who made the omelets with a good amount of filling.
The beds are impossible to sleep on. They are so hard, the pillows so flat, that I had cramping in my back, hips, and knees every night that would wake my”e while I slept. My husband complained of being tired constantly because of how uncomfortable he was as he slept. The walls of the rooms are also very thin. We could hear conversations as well as the television in the next room as is if it was all in ours.
The only pro was that it’s right next to the beach so we could leave the hotel and walk out to the water.
IF YOU ARE BRITISH PLEASE READ AND AVOID THIS HOTEL!!
For some context we are all inclusive visitors and pay closed too £1600 each for just 5 nights so any reasonable person would understand our frustrations and disappointments.
Myself and five others are currently staying at this hotel only on our second full day and I can not warn you to avoid this place enough. Where do I start…
⚠️Rooms: Outdated decor, A/C is a gamble and makes loud noises at night, wardrobe door comes off the hinges each time I try to open it and there is a cabinet looking thing on top of the toilet which is actually meant to be some type of ventilation that blows no air however you can near enough see into the next persons toilet and hear them as if they are in yours!!
⚠️Food& drink: Very basic and bland! Baring in mind I am of Irish/ English nationality so I don’t ask for much flavour or selection myself but the people I’m with are from all over the world and couldn’t agree more. There isn’t much of a selection and is the same food Every. Single. Day!!
The alcoholic beverages are most definitely not alcoholic, they don’t make them infront of you as they make them in jugs at the start of the day prepared and obviously put little to no alcohol in them (specifically the cocktails). If you want half decent (at that) you have to pay £7 for a cocktail and even then the taste and presentation is still not worth the money ⚠️Customer service: THE ABSOLUTE WORST PART ABOUT THIS PLACE!! 9/10 interactions myself and my family/ friends have had with staff they have not once smiled at us or seemed interested in helping. Additionally, they do not speak English (maybe one speaks broken English out of the 100+ staff) but even then they seem annoyed you are bothering them rather than being helpful and kind.
I’ll tell you an example.. we went to the bar to get drinks and were one of three others there, there were two servers (one man called Beni to the left of the bar and another woman (who’s name I need to get because she was very rude) to the right). We were standing to the right. The two others standing there were served then more locals emerged and whilst Beni served his in order, our lady served the four others who were BEHIND US!! She proceeded to avoid eye contact with us and ignored us asking her to be served. To make matters worse once she served those four she walked straight past us and went to left where her colleague was and started to help him serve his side…. We were astonished at this treatment, was it because she was racist and we were obviously not Spanish people? Or was she just rude? Who knows but this led Beni to eventually come down and serve us. We couldn’t believe how we were treated and it had set the tone of the day for us.
⚠️Entertainment: 95% in Spanish so do not bother..
Moreover, it’s mainly locals who come here with a scarce 15% are from other countries. That minority of 15% have been nicer to us and more friendly than the 85% of locals. We get unwelcoming stares from the staff and guests alike and are made to feel like we do not belong.
Had it not been for the amount we paid we would have left this morning on our second day.
One medium positive I will give is that the slides and pools our children do enjoy however… the pool opens at 10am and there are people queuing up from 9am for the sun lounges, it’s like a sprint race at the olympics and the majority of people will put their towels down and only spend an hour or so at the pool then leave the towels there and go off while others who want to stay by the pool all day are left with no seat because of others selfishness.. and it is not regulated whatsoever..
Overall if you have taken the time to read this I’ll assume you can ascertain whether we would come back here or not… there are much better options you could go to spend such an amount. Furthermore we probably won’t come back to Spain for a while now after this experience.
I hope I have saved you the disappointment and wasted money.
Worst hotel I have ever been and I have been too numerous!
I am currently here with my family on a family vacation with two other family friends with their family, we spent on average £1600 for an all inclusive experience, however this was not the case. At first when booking we loved the look of the hotel but once arrived I felt very hostile, awkward and stared upon by other locals and staff members, maybe cause I wasn’t Spanish and they knew I wasn’t from the area.
Room: the room is not up to the date, I am in a room where the the ceiling fan keeps swaying side to side on the highest and medium power making it seem like it was going to fall down. My bathroom smells of sewage every time I enter the room which causes me to spray the whole room with perfume. The room small but good enough for two but just very outdated.
Service: the service is 2/7 a handful are nice enough but the staff would ignore u. I was at the bar by the entertainment and I stood there waiting for about 3 minutes, it wasn’t busy as the staff were either cleaning or bringing in dirty cups. Which made me feel like an outcast. Until I was served. The staff barely speak english so when communicating it becomes very hard and have to pull out a translator which is fine, however would of thought that due to being in a “tourist” area then they would be able to speak with us. The death stares do not help at all.
The entertainment I found to be pointless as it is only spoken in Spanish which causes me and my family friends to not enjoy it and call it an early night.
Beverages: the food is not the best. It’s mainly the same things everyday, which most of them have no flavour or don’t seemed to be cooked properly, causing me to mainly pick cold foods or just dessert.
The drinks are disappointing as the cocktails at this point do not even have alcohol in it. I’m a light weight and coming from me I did not even feel a tinge of earth moving side to side. I was able to drink 3 drinks without feeling anything and gave up ordering. Theres not much options in drinks but apparently if you show money they will add more alcohol so I’m assuming that whatever they give (all inclusive) is what you will get :(. We have also had to buy snacks and we felt the food did not fill us up due to the options and the food not tasting good.
However the good thing about this place is the pools and the water slides but I would not recommend coming here if you are British and coming for a family vacation as you will be stared upon left, right, centre and behind. You would need to have thick skin to experience what we’ve had to experience so far and we’re only on day 2 and have 3 days left so unfortunately, we will have to deal with the experience otherwise we would of left already. This place is for mainly locals not tourists!
