Hotel Helios Costa Tropical in Almunecar

It’s a very nice, friendly, and peaceful place. Everything is very clean, the staff are extremely kind, and the food is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Excellent hotel for cyclists! Our stay at this hotel in Almunecar was absolutely perfect. The place is very well adapted for cyclists - there is a bike wash area and a fully equipped bike storage room with tools, which makes daily bike maintenance easy and convenient. The staff truly deserves special recognition - extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive to every detail. Every day before heading out for a ride, we were offered the opportunity to fill our bottles, grab some snacks, and enjoy a good coffee, which was a fantastic touch. The food was simply phenomenal - raznoobraznoe, fresh, and delicious. Highly recommended for all cyclists and beyond!

I really carefully plan my vacation and read reviews about the hotel, but really rare write myself. But this time i want to write as the hotel is wonderful and really warth staying especially in colder months, as hotel has a heated outside pool and i can assure that it is really heated not just a little :) Personnel is very kind and helpful. Check in was very fast we have received a nice rooms on 8th floor with partial sea view and it was lovely. The room was clean and good size for 3 people, cozy decorated. They also have a very nice terrace with splendid views of the sea and town. During the week there is a nice group sport trainings on this terrace. We had a HB and we were very happy with it the food was very good quality and nice variety. The restaurant stuff is also very nice and kind. Manager welcome all guests, especially in the dinner time takes time to explain every guest, where to sit, what they can choose from, every time says something nice. Also we had a very early check out and when we said goodbye at the last dinner the manager (didn't ask the name) was wondering we don't come for breakfast and then he arranged a takeaway breakfast for all our family, was very lovely and touching. If visiting Almunecar again, would choose this hotel and recommend for our friends

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful room (panoramic with jacuzzi). The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the morning workouts on the rooftop overlooking the sea and had a great massage with Angela. Thank you!

Outstanding experience at this really excellent hotel. The team members are an absolute credit- incredibly welcoming and friendly. Very comfortable rooms. Everywhere is spotless. There seems to be a real pride and emphasis on delivering a lovely guest experience. Great breakfast and dinner options. Fantastic value. Special shout out to Patxe for doing such a stellar job in the dining room.

Absolutely fabulous hotel ... from the pools to the bar , to the spa . Breakfast and the rooms . All exceptional and staff just lovely

Lovely hotel with great location and facilities. We stayed for three nights. Beds were super comfy and our room was clean and spacious with balcony. The rooftop bar or 'the blue bar' was nice for a cocktail. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The ground floor level has another bar with a nice terrace facing the beach/sea. We ate in the hotel on our second night (a Saturday) and there was a huge variety of food at the buffet-style dinner, and something naughty but nice to finish. I would highly recommend. The only small niggle was that it has three small lifts, which seems insufficient for the size of the hotel, so there was always a wait at breakfast and dinner time.

We just stayed here for 2 weeks and are delighted with this hotel. On Booking it says that this is a 3 star hotel but I would rate it as a 4 star no hesitation. The breakfast was really good even if it can be quite crowded. The staff working breakfast was really nice and made an excellent effort to insure we had a great time. The same goes to the rest of the staff from the reception til the cleaning crew that made our room every day. I would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Almenucar. The only downside for me was that it was really costly and the prices seem to change quite a bit. The same room I paid 235€ for yesterday was only 135€ today when I checked on Booking. So I paid about 3000€ for 14 nights while my friend who stayed here in a similar room only paid about 1400€. But apart from that I have nothing to complain about.

Our third visit to this wonderful hotel and definitely not our last. Almuñécar really is one of the hidden gems of Spain and truly well worth a visit, so much to see and do from the golden beaches to the typical hospitality of the Granada region, old fashioned Spain really shines through. On this trip we paid that bit extra for a junior suite once again. A first class position in the hotel and views to die for, last year having 505 which was superb however this year it was 405 which was even better. This hotel really should have four stars but we can only think that the relatively small grounds mark the property down. The food is fresh well presented with show cooking both at breakfast and evening meal, something for everybody all served with a massive smile nothing really is too much bother for the staff here. A big bar area at the front with table service and weekend entertainment makes for a very relaxing way to spend time, for those who like that later drink the roof top bar on the 10th floor serves until 0300. Whilst it’s hard to single any of the staff out a particular shout out to both Viktor and Gonzalo on the front desk, always a smile a wave a hola or even just a chit chat, their local knowledge is invaluable and always ready to help.
