Hotel Punta Sur in Tarifa

A fantastic stay. Really professional welcoming staff. Lovely pool. Lovely restaurant food & service . A great choice in Tarifa. Tarifa busy main road is often unattractive as you whizz past hotels on the other side of the road from the sea. Don't be fooled by the exterior. The joy is at the back. Manicured gardens, aviary , lots of parking, even a tennis court and small gym if that's your thing. The food is amazing at both lunch and dinner. The wine list is superb value. The waiting staff are fantastic. Breakfast was in our deal. It was an extensive cold buffet and you could order omelette etc. We were too full from the night before dinner ! The chalet style room with bath and air con was very relaxing. We sat outside on our chairs and enjoyed the warmth. Do go . It's great .

Highly recommend, good sized rooms with all the facilities, clean and modern. Well maintained. The gardens are beautiful and the pool is also very good.

The Punta Sur is a perfect hotel in so many ways. Beautiful peacocks stride around the hotel and the grounds and gardens are beautifully kept.
The location is great, only 5 min drive into Tarifa and close to great beaches just on the opposite side of the road to the hotel.
The rooms are comfortable, spacious and very clean with great facilities and good wifi.
The pool and tennis court are in perfect condition.
The restaurant is definitely a highlight. The menu caters for all tastes and is of very high quality. The breakfast had delicious fresh fruit, pastries and fresh orange juice and much more. They have a BBQ every night with a great selection of meat and fish, the Iberian Pork was one of our highlights. Great salads, especially the burata salad. All the food was consistently great quality and had delicious fresh ingredients.
The staff were all extremely friendly and efficient and the service was excellent for our entire stay.

Overall, very good, nice and clean, good service. One improvement could be in the rooms, very dark and the floors look outdated.

Good food! We enjoyed gambas al ajilla almejas a la marine , torta queso, pollo curry, and churrasco Pollo. This was a hidden gem when looking at the front of the building but once inside you could see the lush garden, waterfall, and pool. It would make a great place for a romantic weekend for a couple if you decided to stay here. Just across the street you can see all the kite surfers.
