Stayed here for a few nights in mid June. An affordable, well situated between Kite surfing spots and town. Everything was clean and tidy. Quiet location, can't really hear the passing traffic. Would recommend to anyone for a future stay. Would benefit from having a car though - it is a bit far to walk to town if you are on foot.

The bed was a bit too overused since it got a big dip in the middle which made it a bit uncomfortable. Checking in and out of the Hostal has been very fast thanks to automated systems and safe boxes for keys. Cleaning service was respectful of my goods and cleaned everything pretty well.

I had a great stay at Hostel Levante in Tarifa. The location is perfect: it’s situated between the main beach of Los Lances and the city center, making it really convenient to move around, whether for enjoying the beach or going out in the evening.

The structure is beautiful and unique, designed in a horseshoe shape with a well-maintained garden in the middle. A big plus for kitesurfers: there’s plenty of space to lay out kites and wash equipment, which is super convenient.

The staff is friendly and helpful, always ready to assist and make guests feel at home. The rooms are another highlight—comfortable, well-equipped, and surprisingly quiet, perfect for resting after a day of sports or exploration.

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing, welcoming, and strategically located stay in Tarifa.

This property is NOT a hostel but more like a motor inn. My husband and I made our booking online in a hurry since we were driving and had to stay the night somewhere in Tarifa. Unfortunately the usual front desk staff at Hostal El Levante were on holidays at the time but Rocio and Diego, the owners, were so wonderful and made sure everything was set up to make our check in very easy. As soon as the booking was confirmed, they sent us a message to inform us that there wouldn’t be anyone available to check us into our rooms but, since they knew we were coming in late after a long drive, they made sure to give us all the info we needed so we could find our room and check in right away when we got there. Diego also made sure the room was clean and comfy (aired the room and then set the thermostat) when we came.

The Inn is along the highway and is about 10-15 minutes drive from town. They do have a restaurant (but it was closed when we arrived) but if you do require other things, you may need to venture out as it’s not close to the commercial area. However, if you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay, this is a good option. We only stayed one night but we were glad we found this place.

Excellent little gem near the lovely town of Tarifa.
It was our second visit to the area and this hotel, we rebooked here not being too sure if it was a good idea since we found it to be very basic in the past (but very clean and right on the highway across from the beach) the last time around, so we only booked for two nights thinking it would be o.k.
We were pleasantly surprised when we got a renovated room with kitchenette. Very clean and functional and the workers were really nice and helpful, specially Silvia. So we decided to go back a few days after and booked for a full week.
I was told by the office that if I stayed for longer periods we would not get our room fully cleaned (mostly bedding) to which I had no big problem if skipping one day or two but we had to sleep 3 nights with the same sheets. When I politely requested to Diego (one of the owners), to get the bedding changed because there was sand in the sheets, I had the very unpleasant experience to be told to take a shower before going to bed.
I could not believe my ears!! Rude and unapologetic!
I would never go back there, just because of that 5 minute conversation with Diego. But since I strive to be fair in my reviews and the other employees were so kind, I gave this good rating.

The room had a decent size with a very comfortable bed. Overall the the room was simple and clean. The hostel had plenty of free parking spaces and a little cafeteria. Service was very nice and there was daily cleaning. The hostel is located a bit outside the city center at a busy street which does cause a bit of noise and makes it impossible to walk to the city by foot. But you have a great view at the ocean and the beautiful beach. Also, there were roosters nearby during our stay which started crowing at like 5 am. So you should consider bringing ear plugs. But overall we had a good stay.
