This is an interesting historic property in a good location, and I appreciated its heritage and character. However, my stay didn’t quite meet expectations for the nightly rate.

While some common areas reflect the building’s history nicely, the rooms felt in need of further modernization. Comfort was the main issue for me, including room temperature, noise, and bedding/mattress quality, which made sleep difficult.

Staff were polite/professional, and tried to help, which I appreciated. As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member, I was not offered an upgrade during my stay, which may reflect availability.

I ultimately chose to check out early and stay at another nearby hotel that offered noticeably better comfort & amenities at a slightly lower nightly rate.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, a former monastery, and its location is fantastic, right in the heart of Granada. The service was excellent. As a Marriott Platinum member, I received a complimentary breakfast and was upgraded to a Junior Suite. The breakfast was à la carte, delicious, and the service was great too!

Hotel was ok. Room seriously noisy with random bumping and clicking from what I assume is HVAC? Then at 9pm loud music starts when I’m trying to get my jet lagged self to sleep. It would be fine if I had not asked at least 5x to get a quiet room away from noise. Well, it appears I’m adjacent to a live band. No sleep anytime soon. The hotel feels understaffed and under resourced. Would not return. This was a basic request and they failed miserably while occupancy is super low. I’d also add zero upgrade given or attempted despite my Marriott status.

Stayed here in 2018 (not sure how it is after the pandemic), and my friend and I absolutely loved it. Good walking area (about a 25-minute walk to Alhambra- but we enjoy walking), close to bars and restaurants. Beautiful room with an old Spanish aesthetic. Can't speak to other folks' experiences, but we loved it.

We were upgraded to Suite 513, which was fantastic - two spacious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, separated by a comfortable living area that made the space feel both luxurious and practical. The staff were consistently helpful, professional, and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel grounds are absolutely gorgeous, blending historic charm with a serene, elegant atmosphere. A truly memorable experience and a perfect base for exploring Granada.

Avoid — This is NOT a 5-star experience

I booked a king room and was given a windowless box with zero natural light. Despite being Titanium Elite, there was no upgrade offered or even acknowledged. The room feels cramped, outdated, and nowhere near the standard this hotel advertises. For the price and the supposed 5-star rating, this was a major disappointment. I’d avoid this property — there are far better options in the area.

The location was excellent, just minutes from Old Town. The enthusiastic concierge brought my luggage to the room and excitedly told me it was a 14th-century historical building. However, entering the room was a complete disappointment. It felt like paying 3518.28 RMB for a basement room – dark, damp, and musty. The bed was old and creaky, making a sound every time I turned over. The mattress was also old, the spring type, and the springs inside were creaking. To make matters worse, the elevator outside was even older. I was woken up at least three times during the night by the noise of the elevator – the dragging of the steel cables sounded like construction work, and the room wasn't soundproofed at all.

Fantastic stay in Grenada. I would not have picked any other place to stay at Grenada for my wife and I.

First, the service was exemplary. David, a front desk attendant, was super friendly and gave us super helpful recommendations for modes of transportation, restaurants, and other activities. And he was just always warm, kind, and patient with our many requests. Juan, one of the waiters during breakfast time, was always so patient and timely with our requests. We kind of felt we established relationships with the staff at the end.

The hotel is beautiful. You feel like you are in Spain in the hotel. The plaza is so peaceful to have a meal or just to relax. The are several beautiful rooms and the hotel has a interesting history. The rooms are comfortable. I liked the bathroom because it’s spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The only thing to consider is that only one hotel room has an outdoor space.

We had dinner and breakfast. The dinner was good. Food was somewhat flavorful but again, the ambiance is fantastic and relaxing. Service was warm, patient, and timely. This is one of the few breakfast places nearby that provides comprehensive choices and an American style breakfast. The breakfast is tasty. The price includes both a buffet and menu choices. The only slight concern is the breakfast is approximately $30 per person which is very expensive compared to other options in the area and outside the area.

I strongly recommend for any visitor to Granada to consider this hotel.

The front desk of the hotel is divided into separate people. The ones I met in the morning were very polite and enthusiastic, but the ones I met in the afternoon were obviously much worse. The hotel room is very small even if the larger room with 1.8m bed is booked. You can just visit the monastery and have a meal. I feel that the 3200 yuan for a night is not worth it.

Gorgeous hotel. I wished we stayed longer here.
The decorations, the courtyard, and our room are very beautiful. Only small problems with the awkward bathtub door and squeaky bed.
The staff was very nice to check us in at 11pm. They did hold our luggage after we checked out to explore a bit more, which was very helpful for us.
The hotel was not very close to the train station (uber 12min), and about 20min walking to the Alhambra.
