This review pertains to lunch only, and not hotel stay. The service from waiters are good enough, however there is absolutely no love from the kitchen.

The food was just uninspiring from the minute it arrived. It is very clear that the owner and chef in charge run a deep freeze operation. The menu was very well priced and some would therefore justify the use of frozen food.

With so much beautiful and fresh produce in Spain, using frozen vegetables especially, just seems disrespectful to Spanish gastronomy and culture, nevermind having no consideration for their guests. Even an ordinary housewife could do a far better job with the frozen food than these chefs did.
The vegetables were lifeless and tastless, and the chips have been hanging out in a chip dump; simply stale, oily and dreadful.

We chose two dishes of salmon and one with hake and clams. The salmon leeched white proteins, looked boring and tasted like freezer burn. My hake with clams, which I really looked forward to, did not do this Basque classic, "Merluza a la Vizcaina" any justice. The hake in my opinion was fresh, but it tasted as if it missed a few stock rotations in service.

This is a well situated tourist trap to be avoided at all cost. I have subsequently found many better places to eat at in Ronda than Don Javier. We apologise to those worthy chefs for having skipped them.

We did a walk in booking and got the last room. Which was a family room in an attic. Room was clean and very Spanish. No tea or coffee facilities. Fridge did not work and lift next to our room was very noisy. Only one tiny window. My husband cut his head on the low wooden beams.

I never in my life tasted pasta as bad .. dripping with oil , tasteless and the garlic bread was dry .. seriously cannot understand how you can get a carbonara so wrong .. the older man serving was attentive but the younger guy wanted to anywhere else 🙄

Skip eating here. Beware when asked do you want bread. It is charged ,€1.60 per head. So €8 for bread. We hadn't experienced that ripoff anywhere all week. As part of a family group of 5 on a trip to Rhonda, we had lunch here. It was bad. Tossed out dishes. Small portions. Overpriced. 10% service charge on top listed prices. None of us enjoyed it. Lured in by waiter. Tourist trap.

The food was not tasty at all, very greasy. I had pasta and it was the worst pasta i tried ever. I felt sick for two hours afterwards. The service was a bit slow. I would not recommend it.

I ordered a pizza. It was a ready-made oven-baked pizza for 2 euros, and they put tuna on top. It was a very bad pizza. Such a good location, the server was nice, but the food was a disaster.

I ate at the restaurant only. I’m rating room/as food. It’s very convenient right before Ronda bridge in a side street. Sat outside and was colder and windy so should have tried inside but whatever so didn’t see inside. I think people are mean to the waiters/owners because it’s a tourist area so at first they were just so so but warmed up when I was polite and knew what I was doing when I scanned the menu for local dishes. 1. The fish soup was tasty and hot 2. The garlic bread I would pass on 3. The house red wine was a solid choice 4. The local rabbit dish was mind blowing.

This is the best rabbit I have had hands down anywhere. If you’re a foodie try it! I cook so I truly enjoyed this dish. Inventive and tasty!!

My partners pizza was good but loads of cheese.

I would try locals dishes here and skip the usual suspects tossed for tourists that want burgers.

Really really stellar rabbit! My review is based on this dish and the soup.

**If you find this review helpful, please let us know by clicking the like button below! Thank you!** The premises could use a facelift and the attitude of the servers needs an adjustment. The premises were clean but worn. Our waiter seemed to be more involved with his problems than in making a stab at serving. The food was OK, not great and the coffee was again OK but not great! We have been spoiled by the quality of the coffee throughout Spain and expected as much here but did not get it. Overall will not come back again!

Twin beds. Thought comfy …Lol. clean room , great shower. Quite Noisy on street till about midnight. Parking in parking garage for discount. The room had very outdated furnishings. Location was great except for noisy street.

Great tasty food for a good price. The waiter didn't speak english what was no problem at all.

Poor service, the waiter didn't speak English (I asked the wine list, he didn't understand). First glass of wine was replaced because it was from the bottle opened long ago. Food is very average. Great view if you come before nine. No WIFI. From 8pm till 11p.m we were the only guests on Saturday Evening. Michelin? I doubt it.

Thought the Michelin star meant great food.
Was bitterly disappointed. Decent wine with amazing view on small terrace that smelled of cat pee.
