Santander, C. Joaquin Costa, 28, BAJO, 39005 Santander, Kantabriya, Ispaniya (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
High quality hotel situated in a very good location easily within walking distance to the beaches and local restaurants and bars. Room was clean and well appointed with air conditioning. Staff were friendly and efficient. No problem recommending this hotel. The outside look of the hotel is not particularly attractive but inside it is what one would expect from a 4 star hotel.
The hotel is in a great location, very close to the peninsula beach and within walking distance. The hotel is luxuriously decorated, the environment is comfortable, the front desk service is enthusiastic, the room is clean and tidy, the bathroom is large and easy to use, and the hotel breakfast is great, rich in content and tastes good. Dinner was also served at the hotel, a three-course French meal...
Historical building but renovated. The address is close to the beach but a bit far from the city center. There are restaurants near the hotel
Excellent “four star” hotel, Reception Staff helpful, professional and friendly, accommodation excellent. I do feel to pay an additional car parking charge of 15 euros in their underground garage area is frankly an unnecessary extra for hotel guests… parking in the surrounding streets is difficult. Food was just ordinary if a little overpriced, my Veal Entrecôte was mostly good but in parts tough...
Stayed at this hotel again, as always clean, attentive service, very good! Highly recommended.
A fantastic hotel in a fantastic location. The foyer to the hotel is large and inviting, the rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean and all of the staff were very helpful and friendly. It is just a 1 minute walk to the beach/sea front and there are lots of restaurants & bars very close by. The walk from the bay to the city centre is amazing along the beautifully clean and scenic promenade. All...

Wonderful. The room, the service, the view- the special anniversary champagne! Beautiful
Really beautiful old hotel with gorgeous views. The rooms are a bit dated but still clean and comfortable with a great shower. The balcony was a little disappointing - just two little metal chairs and no table. Some other balconies had tables but some looked broken; a lot of mismatched furniture. We walked everywhere from the hotel, but be warned it is a top a very big hill! Worth it for the views...
Check in staff very helpful
Room very nice
Went down for dinner only to be told that the restaurant was. Loses and we could have a Bar meal! Not what we expect from a 5 star hotel which it’s clearly not as there are no leisure facilities and only food available is bar food - very disappointing
The hotel and property were spectacular. I would highly recommend! My only issue was I wasn't able to set the thermostat to blow cold air; I tried all the settings and even placed it in auto mode. The room was a toasty 24 and it never went down from there, even when I tried setting it to 15. My wife also could smell cigarette smoke coming in our room when we had the windows open, clearly from other...
Amazing hotel
Amazing hotel with an amazing location. The room with an ocean view is worth the extra price. And the breakfast buffet is outstanding.
This was a lovely historic and very well appointed five star hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend it. The breakfast was delicious too. The common rooms of the hotel are stately. And the bedrooms were very comfortable with gorgeous modern bathroom.

We had a great experience with this hotel. The staff was very nice and welcoming, even helped us with luggages. The room is spacious and clean. Highly recommended!
Yeah just go for this. Actually felt like a hotel in a great location. Avoid the hills
The room was very spacious, although the extra bed for children was very uncomfortable. The breakfast was very good, as was the staff's attention. The location was great.
Excellent location, large and comfortable room.
Very satisfied, but the facilities still need to be updated in time.
Although it is a four-star hotel, it is really simple and cannot be compared with domestic four-star hotels. The scenery is great, the breakfast is too ordinary, the decoration in the room is very ordinary, and there is no kettle as usual

Room is clean but the furniture and design are dated. The chair is uncomfortable and not suitable for working.
The location is great. It's in the city center, so it's convenient to go anywhere.
The rooms are great, the location is very convenient! Private parking, there is a charger for electric cars.
Hello!! The service is great, but the window and curtain cleaning is very, very dirty and won't open. I mentioned beforehand that I have asthma.
Thank you!!
Hotel in the center of Santander with excellent breakfast and attentive staff, and very good value for money.
Clean hotel, comfortable bed, and everything more than adequate. Very friendly staff and centrally located. You couldn't ask for more.
I didn't use the restaurant, so I can't comment.

Stunning hotel ..staying here 2 days .. hopeless breakfast.. yeah we're English. But the bacon . Scrambled eggs and fried eggs we're cold .. . Not worth anywhere near 18 euros . Breakfast is probably worth half that . And breakfast area not very welcoming.. definitely eating out for breakfast tomorrow
Very helpful front desk staff, we got an upgrade to ocean view room which was much appreciated. Just over the road from the beautiful beach. Clean and spacious room , comfortable bed. Breakfast ok but nothing special.
Great location right on the seafront. Staff were great. Breakfast was good. The bathrooms probably could do with a little more attention with cleaning and FYI, a standard double room is quite small with a small double bed.
My girlfriend and I recently stayed at this wonderful hotel. Literally across from the beach with breathtaking views. The staff is so kind, helpful and delightful. All where very attentive and we so appreciated the wonderful customer service, cleanliness of hotel, prompt room service.
We cannot say enough about how wonderful of a time we had. From the delicious coffee to the excellent receptionists...
Stayed here in July. Hotel has a fantastic location on the front and there was an amazing sea view from our room. However, on returning to the room on the 2nd day we had no cups or satchets of coffee/milk for the morning. When I went to reception to get some I was told that coffee etc was only complimentary on the first night - surely even 2 star hotels supply free satchets of coffee/tea etc! In the...

Staff were very helpful and polite. Room was good but very thin walls - so quite a noisy room. Breakfast was adequate but could do with more variety and better hot options.
Excellent stay. Hotel very clean and welcoming with very friendly staff. Close to beautiful beach and only 20 minute walk to city centre
A great experience, the staff was always willing to go the extra mile, great attitude and location.
Highly recommended this hotel for a trip to Santander. 12 mins from city centre, right across from miles of golden beach & attractions, safe area, bus outside & a daily menu with wine for 26€.
Lovely hotel in Sandinero. All staff were very friendly, particularly the receptionist we met. Good English spoken which is always appreciated. The room we had was very large with sea views. It was a longish walk into Santander, but the bus service looked very efficient. Would highly recommend this hotel. There is underground parking but also free stree parking opposite, if you can get a place...
Lovely hotel and very well located. Easy parking which is underground and secure.
Only quibble is the shower needs a hand rail, to hold onto if you're a little wobbly on your feet, and rooms need power points next to bed. Very clean hotel and very welcoming staff

Wow! Superb up market accommodation in a stunning hotel/room on the sea front. Views from our window on a sunny day were fantastic. Absolutely fabulous, a modern hotel with a beautiful exterior, superb car parking, rooms are big and beds very comfortable, enourmous showers
We enjoyed a pleasant overnight stay in this large hotel overlooking the beach.
The room was of good size and well maintained.
Free on-street parking was found behind the hotel.
Local wine bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance.
Vera comfortable beds and clean room.
Hotel in lovely position near the beach ,local cafes and restaurant. Parking available at the hotel
Excellent location overlooking a nice beach. Clean and modern on the inside, with a retro facade that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding 19th century hotels around it. Reasonably priced in the winter, although I’m told summer prices can be eye watering. Overall highly recommended.
The location of the hotel is idyllic. It is facing the beach and water. The hotel has pleasing outside aesthetics, it seems to glow particularly in the night. The service received was okay. However, Eva from the reception was excellent and stood out. She made me feel welcome and was always smiling and helpful. The amenities work, even the air-conditioning. The rooms are fairly spacious and quiet which...

Great location with view of the water; friendly staff at reception; comfortable and quiet room.
Nice location and friendly staff.
We really liked our experience at the Vinci Puerto chico. The location is excellent. The room was a little small but cozy, and the bathroom was quite big. The public parking right outside is a plus. The staff was nice and there were some nice touches. We did not take the breakfast. I would stay here again and highly recommend thanks to the awesome location.
Very nice place to stay on the waterfront and near Casa Lita. Our room was clean and comfortable. Our A/C worked like a charm and the breakfast buffet was very good. Good Wifi, as well.
Wonderful stay , great welcome and touristical help from Alvaro, the front desk manager , perfect location with a wonderful view of the pretty bay and marina, very close to historical downtown and beaches.
Stayed in this hotel for 7 days and enjoyed every minute of it we upgraded to the front rooms with a fabulous view. The cleanliness was very impressive. Very good location for visiting the town center.
A particular mention to the extremely kind and helpful staff always ready to address any query with a smile.
This was a nicer hotel than some of the 4 Stars I have stayed in Spain. Breakfast is always great at NH hotels with eggs made to order and a large selection at the buffet. Best of all, they stored our bicycles inside for the night as we are cycle tourers. Thanks NH for a restful and nice stay.
Great place for a one night lay over or a weekend in the city.
The room is a bit tiny but lovely and cleaned the reception was lovely, friendly and helpful

This property is at the edge of town, but if you have a car and want less hassle with parking and crowds, stay here. The staff is very nice, and they have a popular bar and cafeteria, even at the edge of town
Comfortable big room, quiet and helpful staff.
Like the large rooms. Very good breakfasts. Free use of swimming pool next door. Beach and supermarkets nearby. Very easy to get into Santander on numerous buses. Paseo al Cabo Mayor affords lovely views of the Sardinero beach.
The person at the front desk assisted me to obtaine medication I left at my previous hotel stay. She coordinated the delivery to me of the medication. Well beyond her responsibilities.
Stayed here for one night prior to getting the ferry back to the UK.
From the outside the hotel looks like a concrete monstrosity built in the 1960's or 1970's. However, it is totally different on the inside, being very spacious and modern, especially the rooms.

Great location for walking around the city and accessing public transport. The hotel restaurant is very well used by local people. We enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the 10% discount!
Only one night this time!but still the very best!staff/service/cleanliness/location!excellent
What’s the difference between a 2 star or a 3 star hotel? For us this was 3 star. Clean and comfortable, nice bathroom. The hotel is connected to a very popular restaurant . The breakfast was served in the restaurant and there were a mix of hotel guests and locals.
The location was in the pedestrian area.
We thought this stay was good and good value for money.
Very convenient and central ~ near lots of shops, bars & restaurants and well positioned for a lovely walk to the port/beach etc. Nice clean room. Friendly staff.

We stayed just one night prior to getting the ferry back to England. We had our dogs with us and the hotel catered very well for them. We didn't have breakfast or dinner in the hotel, but there were plenty of choices for both within a short walk of the hotel.
Loved the stay in this NH hotel in particularly, we travelled with our dog and it was the first time they have left us a bed and a toy for him. Small details count 😌
Quite old and expensive but close to restaurants and sites.
The hotel is well located in the city and is pleasant. The staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. The buffet breakfast has a lot of variety.

I perfectly acceptable hotel for my unexpected stopover in lovely Santander.
I recently had a 2 night stay here. Great location 5 minute walk to train & bus stations. Room was big enough,,yes it was basic but end of the day it is stated as a budget hotel so wasnt expecting the ritz plus it had everything I needed in it,,,the hotel & the room was very clean,,staff at reception were polite & friendly & so were the cleaners, they never passed you by without saying Ola.
Only downside...
Very good location if you are in transit in Santander. Very close (5 minutes walking) to the train station and bus terminal. Close to the sea. The hotel is basic, but very clean.
First hotel we came across when arriving in santander for the ferry. Very close to the port with great little bars around. The room was perfectly adequate and very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced considering it's location. I would highly recommend.
I stayed here for two nights. The staff were very nice and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is very well-located (close to the beach, the train and bus station and to the city center). I could sometimes hear the neighbors, but it did not annoy me at all. There was also a small bar beside the hotel and the food was really good. I recommend this place
Lovely little hotel. A little out dated but extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean!!! The room was dark as the shutter seemed down but the view wasn't anything special!!! The bathroom was also spotlessly clean and nice towels and hot powerful show. Glorio is in great location and extremely good value for money. Ps the staff were so so so helpful See you again

Everything is OK. Only thing I do not like that is the room is in basement. I would not book the hotel if I knew I will stay in a basement room. It did not say this when I booked the hotel.
LOVELY and beautiful hotel WITH A GREAT BUFFETT BREAKFAST FOR A GOOD PRICE. IT OVER EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. Ana, Antonio and Son's have a wonderful way to treat their clientela. And Merce, the head housekeeper is always on the look to assistance you with whatever your needs are. She's absolutely the best, a real asset to this corporation. My only suggestion is to install safety bars in the bathrooms...
Beautiful location but very noisy rooms
Hotel is in a beautiful setting very quiet out of the main city. There’s a bus stop close by to take you to the center. The decor is very dated and had a Fawlty Towers vibe. A big negative was the noise from the room above which started at 04:00 and ended at 06:00. There’s no sound proofing
Old building with modern service.
Easy and clean could store our electric bikes and charge them

I’ve stayed here before and I’d stay again. Great room and location. E
The bed was two singles pushed together instead of a double bed. There was no room for a bedside table on one side of the bed. There was a light above the bed which was either directly over my head or in the way when I got out of bed. The room was a bit cold so we tried to increase the temperature but it had little effect. The car park was at the station, a few minutes walk away.
First thing we arrived into the Bus Station and the Hotel is just across the street.👍 Fabulous.
Reception was wonderful and gave us an upgrade to a King room 👍 Fabulous.
Reception so helpful when we needed to book tickets for a show 👍 Fabulous
Room great, staff & Hotel Fabulous
Breakfast was good but not free — cost €10
Room was small and dark with very little space to set luggage. I think they have larger rooms so ask for one. Bathroom had no shelf to set washbag on. Breakfast was good for the price and service attentive. However the location is excellent for everything - close to bus station and ferry so would recommend it for this reason.

Convenient for the hotel only
Convenient for the airport but that’s about it.
Receptionists don’t speak a word of English, we asked for a family room a double and a double with single occupancy bug ended up with 3 doubles which didn’t work for us.
We stayed at the property for 3 nights after completing a section of the Camino Norte. The property was conveniently priced and located. We enjoyed our stay here.
The staff were very friendly. The room was clean. The location was good and, although not next to it, the old town was very walkable from the hotel. The bed was comfortable and we had no issues.
Lady who helped us check in was absolutely lovely. Room was small but very neat and clean.
Excellent stay
Although check in seemed a little confusing at first - You just need to go to the first floor and knock one of the two doors that open to reception eventually. The ceiling fan is greatly appreciated, a room with table and chairs is available for all guests and a fridge is provided in the room. Good value, odd but actually great location
Slightly odd location, but actually very convenient. Excellent staff. Comfortable room, but the whole hotel is feeling a little old and needs to be refreshed
I liked the front desk staff. If not them we would cancel our reservation and go to the other hotel. Location and room sizes were shocking, breakfast very limited. Preserved fruit served in the summer, etc
Really convenient to get to main tourist area. Staff difficult to find at Reception on several occasions. If you’ve got a car make sure you book a parking spot.
The hotel seems to have seen better days. The base in the shower was coming off the wall and had mold behind it. There were a few broken things in the room (e.g., the face plate came off the outlets in the bathroom when unpluggin the hair drier). This is long overdue. We stayed here for three nights last summer and enjoyed every minute of it. The setting let alone remodeled historic structure are enough to draw us back to this wonderful hotel. We had dinner every night and the food was some of the best we had in all of our two weeks of travel across Spain. Embrace the unique charm of this hidden gem and you will certainly have a wonderful experience

Lovely rural boutique hotel. Gorgeous spa which we enjoyed all on our own - they light the fire for us and it was fabulous! Food very good indeed. Thoroughly recommend staying here.
Astonishing!
One of the best experiences we’ve had after many trips. The location, atmosphere, architecture, decor, details, service, and attention were impeccable. Worth returning to.
We stayed for two very enjoyable nights. The staff are exceptional, nothing is too much trouble. The grounds are beautiful very calm & relaxing. The rooms are a tranquil oasis. We ate at the restaurant both nights all meals excellent & showed local ingredients. We loved our stay here, it was so nice.
I booked this property as s gift for a couple and their feedback was that the entire Helguera Team was absolutely outstanding . They took very good care of every small detail requested by Me , therefore making their stay even more special. Thank you all for making my friend’s stay so memorable.
