Hotel Medicis in Barcelona

The building is located right next to Av. De Gaudi, keeping guests only a short walk away from Sagrada Familia!
The room is extremely clean, and has many provisions, such as shampoo, body shampoo, and a ridiculously comfy bed, and a small balcony, with a great view. Amenities include soap, shampoo, a hair dried, TV, 2 bottled waters, kettle, and coffee/tea at no extra charge. The room also has a safe, the door has an electronic NFC lock, and a deadbolt from the inside, offering great security at night.
The staff is extremely pleasant, very gentle and courteous, and their English is fluent.
We are lucky to have come here, and be serviced at such short notice - the same hour I contacted them!

Even though we arrived earlier than the check-in time, I was able to get into my room. The hotel is close to Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. The room was clean and comfortable.

The room was very clean, well-designed, and had ample air conditioning. There was also a small terrace for an evening drink. It's about 500 meters from the Sagrada Familia. Just turn left and you'll find a bus to the city center, but the ride is quite long as it stops at many stops.
The front desk lady was very attentive. She printed a map of the bus route for us, gave us change for the bus, and even showed us how to get to the city center. It was fantastic!

Great hotel for what you’re paying and based on what you’re looking for.
Decent rooms with daily, timely cleaning service.
Very good location near the Sagrada - next to hotel there is a mercat, a taxi station and a metro station very near.
Very polite, king and helpful receptionists (except maybe one lady).
Check in was smooth and quick - we were lucky enough to have an early check in without asking.
Hotel is small and easy to navigate (don’t expect a luxurious, super big hotel with lounge, etc.)
Room is spacious enough (not big enough- always check m2 at the option) and had a decent balcony view.
They also kept are luggage safe for many hours as we had a late flight with no charge.
They also had 2 free bottles of water every day, which again is great and shows hospitality.
PS. We stayed on the 3rd floor, and I wouldn’t say there was any noise or anything, maybe when people were exiting the elevator only (it’s possible that lower floors are more noisy, so aim for rooms at top floors).
All the above, compared to the 5star hotel I stayed previously, with check in taking ages, charging the water as mini bar, being lost in the worst labyrinth I’ve seen in a building, plus charging everything from late check out to keeping your luggage and daily cleaning not happening until 4pm, is it worth the 3x price? No, I’d choose Medicis again.

Awesome staff, very welcoming and polite. The rooms are clean, the location is quite close to Sagrada Familia, the room price is moderate, but overall good quality for money. We really enjoyed the stay here.

Really enjoyed my overnight stay. It’s location allowed me to visit Sagrada Famila & Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau on foot and the Ramblas & Port Barcelona by Línea 2 Metro.
As a solo traveller in a strange city I felt secure.
My single room had a mini bar, safe & a balcony with a great view of the busy intersection.
Loads of local restaurants to choose from, I ate at Baseria Cal Ramon with a view of Sant Pau, it was great.
My onward journey to BCN was easy, as the helpful man at reception said Blue Linea 5, then Orange Linea 9S straight the both airport terminals.
Lady who checked me in was really helpful too, we spoke in Spanish so I enjoyed that.
In summary, great! Thank you.

Hotel Medicis is just a quick 15 minute walk to Sagrada Família. There’s a taxi stand right across that made it easy to get a ride to our different excursion meeting places.
Access to a lot groceries, tapas, restaurants.
I appreciated our water kettle, tea and coffee service.
Staff were all very helpful and friendly as well.

The location is very good, the room is very clean, the service staff is friendly, and the room sound insulation needs to be improved.
