AluaSoul Ibiza - Adults Only in Santa Eularia des Riu

I will start by praising the great staff at reception, hats off to Jaqueline and Javier who were professional and friendly and made up for a rather poor experience.
I will also note that the hotel is extremely clean and that a big effort is clearly put into making guests feel secure on that front

For the rest, where to start..? When coming back from dinner just shy of 12 am, I wanted to order a taxi for the next day to go to the church for a wedding and this was refused as it had to be done on the day as only taxis to the airport could be ordered, why??
We then asked for an ironing board and iron but again, not possible but no reason why I can't iron when I would like. On the next day, I called the reception to ask for the ironing board and iron and was told to come down myself to the items. Turns out, I could only get the iron as there was no ironing board to go with it so we had to literally iron on the bedside table and bathroom counter (see picture).

Also, there is no mini bar, which seems weird for a 4-star hotel.

Getting a bit annoyed at this situation and other little things that had added up over our stay, I told the staff of my annoyance, only to be told it is not their fault because they are understaffed, with no apologies or acknowledgement of the situation. Other hotels still put the effort into their customer service and deliver a great experience, so please raise up to the situation and offer paying guests a good, lasting impression.

In conclusion, it tries to look like a boutique hotel but is a mass travel one so take it for that and nothing else.

Unrelated to the hotel, I will point out that it can be really hard to get taxis at time. On a Saturday night we ended up waiting over an hour for a taxi we had booked and had to drive our car to the place we were going to.
