The Seascape in Matara

A really comfortable, stylish hotel - very spacious rooms, with everything you might need and a narrow balcony where you could sit and look over the beautiful ocean. The place is actually very close to Matara city but once you arrive, you feel very secluded. The beach is gorgeous and good for surfing (although tough for swimming unless you are strong!). The staff were friendly and we really enjoyed our stay.

The Seascape is a beautiful property right on a quiet section of beach close to SK Town surf break. Stunning views.
Our family of three spent 3 nights.
The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and kind.
Breakfast each morning was delicious and the evening dinner specials were fantastic; varied Sri Lankan cuisine.

When we arrived there was a misunderstanding about the number of people in the booking. That is Ctrip order goes through ******* then to the hotel and ******* didn't mention the kids so we ended up in a small room. Fortunately, the owner worked her magic and we were able to move to a bigger room the second day.
The hotel is located in a quiet beach, far from the touristic cities. We thought we would be close to Marissa but it was still a 30 min tuktuk drive away. In the end, we didn't like Marissa, so staying in Matara was a great choice. The beach is a paradise for surfers of all levels. We basically went everyday with my daughter of 8, while our baby of 1 could play in the sand.
The accommodation was more than on, but what makes this hotel a gem is the staff. They were very friendly, always ready to help. Our baby daughter was treated like their own kid. The kitchen tries to be as sustainable as possible so to avoid waste you have to order your dinner in the afternoon which was sometimes a bother as we like to plan on the go. But the food was very good and the quantity plenty. We had too much food at breakfast so we asked usually only to have two portions for our family of 4.
Sometimes, we'd asked for a change on the menu, swap chicken for shrimps and the cook would agree.
We had the NY's eve dinner there and it was excellent.

Truly relaxing escape at Seascape
We loved out stay, hotel staff were so attentive and went out of our way to enjoy the experience. The meals were truly amazing, Dinusla cooked our dinner as we were the first guests for the season and Wow! It was the best Sri/Lankan meal we have ever had. Breakfast was so delicious, fresh fruit & juice, eggs of choice plus delicious delicate curry with roti. Sean, Uden and Shenal were fabulous, they felt like family when we had to depart.

Great accommodation by the sea, beautiful garden, good and varied breakfast! Highly recommended if you're looking for peace and quiet and want to surf. You're often alone on the beach; it's a paradise. Mirissa is quickly accessible, for example, by tuk-tuk.

Very friendly and helpful staff! They made the experience extra lovely ☺️The hotel is placed right on the beach and has a gorgeous view. You can rent surfboards close to the hotel and there are some restaurants in walking distance. It is only 30 min to Marissa by tuktuk.

Great hotel at a calm beach
The Seascape is a nice hotel at a calm beach very close to Matara and 30min to mirissa by tuktuk (~5$). There are also several restaurants,
Surf shops and convenience stores in walking distance (5-10 min)
The hotel is very clean, rooms are super comfy, air-con and hot water works perfectly. The breakfast was really good and you can enjoy it with a view on the beach and waves. The garden in front has a direct entrance to the beach, there are always high waves, which makes it a perfect spot for surfers.
What makes this hotel really special, is the people. The whole staff and the owner family are simply amazing and lovely!

This is the fourth time we booked this hotel for past two years continiously. It's a great place with kind, frindly and supportive staff with great breakfast with a flexible menu. It's a safe, secure and realiable place.
