Two ladies cover all services. Get irritated at guests. Make u feel as if you are staying free of cost. Best avoided
I chose Serendib Beach Resort to celebrate my birthday, expecting a memorable and pleasant experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a very poor choice.
The room condition was unacceptable. The toilets had a strong, unpleasant smell, as there was no use of any scented cleaning products. There were spider webs around the room, and the cabinets also had a bad odour, making us uncomfortable to even keep our clothes inside.
The service from the staff was extremely poor and unprofessional.
Before arrival, I was shown photos of beachside decorations and a candlelight dinner. On 6th February 2026, it was not raining at all, yet we were refused permission to sit outside, and no alternative or special arrangement was made. As a tourist celebrating a birthday, one would expect at least some effort or surprise — sadly, there was none at all.
Dinner was another disappointment. Due to the presence of a large group of North Indian guests, the hotel clearly could not manage the crowd. I was not even asked for my dinner preference. The whole setup was messy and disorganised. I ended up having just one seafood platter, brought our own drinks, and returned to the room.
The only “birthday arrangement” was some leaves and hibiscus flowers placed in the room, which felt more symbolic than thoughtful.
To make matters worse, I was promised a complimentary birthday cake, which was never given on time. The staff knocked on our door after we had already gone to sleep, and by checkout the next day, the cake situation was still unresolved. I left without cutting or even receiving it properly.
Overall, this stay was a huge disappointment, especially for a birthday celebration.
My recommendation is a clear NO.
The location of this hotel absolutely excellent. Customer service was good. Since we went for a day out we didn't get the room with sea view.
If I rate the room, I can give 3. Floor is wet and sticky.

It's sad to say people doesn't have any experience in Hospitality industry destroying the tourism industry in sri lanka. Please do not misled by nice photos on web and internet.
Peaceful- away from city
Very friendly staff.
Not fully functional yet, hence not recommended for lunch/dinner. Alright for small snacks and breakfast. Does not serve alcoholic beverages yet.
Pool is new but needs better maintenance.
