I had lunch at their restaurant and had a terrible experience. I found barely 4–5 prawns in their prawn devilled dish, yet it cost like 3000 LKR. We also ordered a chicken curry and that was awful (taste). Worst of all, my wife and I got food poisoning.
We had our doubts anyway, as not many people seemed to visit the place.

Unfortunately its a very busy month in February and we had not prebooked any where and most places were full. Looking at the photos of the hotel it looked great. When were these photos taken as must be many years ago? as firstly the delux room we were in was so dated, the shower was ancient and corroded. Although it was a large room with patio and it was cleaned every day with fresh towels although they were well worn. The pool was absolutely terrible and had not been renovated for years and looked nothing like the photos although the pool looked clean. The whole hotel was run down and the wooden stair case had never been cleaned and dust was inbedded in the stair supports, it would take little effort to have this washed down and painted to freshen it up. The breakfast was very poor compared to most other hotels, a bit of fresh fruit, eggs if you wished, a small bowl of insipid curry and bread. Fortunately we never ate there as found an excellent restaurant a few hundred meters down the road call The Bamboo Shoot. I would advise anyone to think very hard before booking this place and would certainly not recommend it. After travelling in Sri Lanka for 4 weeks this is the worst I have experienced and have found excellent places far cheaper and some at the same price. The whole place should be renovated. Maybe the cheaper rooms have been renovated but we were not offered them as they informed up the delux rooms were better and bigger! The only good thing was the beach in front of the hotel and had enough sunbeds. I dont write many reviews only when places are worth but felt that this hotel was so bad I had to let travellers know what to expect.

I refer to the Oasey ayurveda spa treatment only. I am an experienced and demanding client when it comes to massages. I went to quite a few places for ayurvedic massage with very different price points all over Sri Lanka. My first full body massage in the Oasey ayurvedic spa was awesome indeed, so I was eager to come back to experience more pleasure and joy. And my expectations were far more overcame with Mrs. Devika, super experienced skillful massage therapist. I decided to go for the combo of the full body massage, reflexology and shirodara as the cherry on top of my Sri Lanka vacation and prep for my long distance flight back to Europe. And it was true paradise. The full treatment was pure magic to my body and soul. Afterwards I was speachless and felt somehow close nirvana. I sincerely wish to everybody this opportunity to experience Devika's massage top expertize.

My two sons and I had a wonderful time at Oasey Beach hotel. The staff were amazing and friendly and went out of their way to help us and meet our needs. The location is great -a beautiful, quiet beach with plenty to do nearby. A short tuk tuk takes you to a huge gold Budda statue and temple. A 15 minute walk takes you to the Indurawa turtle sanctuary which was fabulous. The breakfast at Oasey was outstanding and the evening meals too. Our room was big and clean. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Nice place to stay as much close to the ocean as possible. The beach is perfect. The staff is young and you can't expect perfect service from them, which must be typical for same price hotels.

So I'm usually super easy going with anything when it comes to traveling but this place is rotten. The rooms stink, sheets dirty... We left after 1 day. Also they made us pay upfront and we couldn't get a partial refund or anything like that. We met other travellers who left after 1 night also. I'd avoid this hotel. The location is good but everything else sucks. Sorry to say but it's my honest review.

There is not a single positive aspect I can highlight about this hotel, but there were numerous negative experiences that completely ruined our vacation.

Incorrect Charges
We were forced to pay more in USD than the amount mentioned on the Booking.com invoice, plus an additional 10% service charge.

Staff Behavior
The staff at reception displayed very rude behavior during check-in, making the experience unpleasant.

Room Decor and Hygiene
- The room lacked basic amenities like an intercom to contact room service, despite charging a service fee.
- There was no mirror inside the room for getting ready or dressing up.
- The bathroom had no exhaust fan, which caused discomfort.
- Tea bags were left open, not in sealed pouches, and no milk powder was provided in the tea kit.
- There was no doormat outside the bathroom, forcing us to walk back into the room with wet feet after using the bathroom.

2nd floor room with a shared balcony. Off season now, but they charged us more than the last time when we went in season.
Room had space. Linen cleaning was not adequate - there were hairs on the bedsheets. The single bed was not cleaned - there was grass on the bed.
The greatest disaster was the commode - it did not flush properly. I couldn't get the safe to work. So maybe 5 out of 10 for the room. Food choices were limited, but the portions were adequate. 6 out of 10 when compared to the last time (September 2023). Beach was non-existent. A sheer 3 - 4 feet their side, ravaged by the pounding tide.
