Hotel Susantha Garden in Bentota

I am leaving this review so that other travelers don’t make the same mistake I made and book this hotel without having the full picture, as they are undergoing renovations. If we would have known, maybe we would have had a different experience, but the staff seemed surprised when we arrived. This hotel is essentially a construction site right now. I understand this is a budget option, but there were other deficiencies in the room (toilet leaking water on the floor, giant cockroach, linens not very clean) on top of the lack of communication and construction. For the price, it wasn’t up to the standards of other accommodations we stayed at in similar price ranges. I don’t like to leave negative reviews to be spiteful, just want to help someone else who may be traveling soon.

Food Service was damn slow here. Despite the restaurant being not that full initially around 8.00 PM on a Sunday evening. There were only 2 guys managing the while show in terms of taking kitchen orders, getting food delivered to the table including bills. Any follow-up like spoons, sauces , plates and water etc itself was taking lot of time. Food taste was still good specially the Veg Grilled Pizza and Margaritas. Veg Soups we also fine so was Egg Rice but yeah too us more than 2 hours minimum to dine with lot of interruptions.
