Riverside Inn Fuji in Bentota

Riverside Inn Fuji is a beautiful place to stay. The views of the estuary are breathtaking andthe surroundings are so peaceful and calming, the beds are very comfortable and the whole place is so clean. There's a good variety of juice and fruits for breakfast and if you like eggs every day then you're all set.

What can I say! Such a lovely place. From start to finish our 10days here were lovely. The room was great, quite spacious with a fab view over the pool and river. Clean tidy with all the basics you need (inc fridge). Breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit and juice. Eggs done your way, good coffee and an extra Sri Lankan something every day. The owners are such a lovely couple, so helpful and accommodating. Arranging tuk tuks, boat trips etc. All in all would highly recommend.

The owner is very friendly and easy to talk to. His wife is a bit shy, but incredibly kind, and you can really feel how much she cares about the guests. The owner used to work as a Japanese cuisine chef in Japan, and by coincidence, we happened to know very well the town where he once lived. This unexpected connection led to a wonderful conversation and made for a truly memorable evening. Although he no longer cooks Japanese food, we would love to try it someday. We also heard that his wife’s Sri Lankan dishes are excellent. When we encountered a small problem during our stay, they handled it with great care and sincerity. Above all, what left the strongest impression was how deeply they love their country and their people. If you are visiting Bentota, we highly recommend staying here.

A gem! Nestle in front of the bay, this water front villa has everything you need for a relaxing, rejuvenating experience. What to expect? clean, large rooms with breathtaking views. The family that runs the place are professionals who have lived overseas and are proud of their business. Breakfast is a feast and the pool is ideal to relax and cool off on a sunny day. You also can use a recliner and chill under a coconut tree! I spend a week here and it was lovely! Thank you for a such a wonderful experience.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Such a great hotel. Beautiful location on river front, short drive (3-4mins) to some beautiful beaches, great breakfast and really nice spacious room. Peaceful environment. The owners are very friendly and attentive - providing some nice local recommendations. Would highly recommend and if I'm back in Sri Lanka I would visit again.

​We had a fantastic stay at Riverside Inn Fuji. The location right on the river is stunning and peaceful, yet it’s only a short 15-minute walk to the beach. ​The hotel is beautifully decorated, and you can tell the owners put their heart and soul into every detail. They are incredibly kind, take great care of their guests, and gave us excellent local tips. Plus, the breakfast was delicious! ​If you want a beautifully maintained place with a personal touch, this is it. Highly recommended!

5 stars isn't enough. I'm in a Cinnamon 5 star hotel and Riverside Fuji is 10 times better. Super clean, spacious, deluxe, plenty of electrical outlets, beautiful river view from private balcony. Nice finishing touches to the suite. Friendly owner. Good breakfast choices.

Lovely hotel with very welcoming hosts. Peaceful atmosphere and nice spacious rooms. Perfect location for river tours and water-sports, also nice restaurants walking distance.

I've never been so stressed out on a trip. 1 - I booked the dates, everything was confirmed, and then the owner wrote back saying they couldn't accommodate us for the last two nights and it was their mistake. We agreed to move us to another hotel. Upon arrival, it turned out they would provide us with a room after all (after our request). 2 - we booked a room with breakfast, but it turned out the owner had only paid for a room without breakfast. We were told this wasn't the first time (I don't understand why the owner won't resolve this issue, blaming the client who booked through intermediaries rather than directly, saying it wasn't my problem). We somehow managed to get breakfast; the owner said it was a compliment. It left a bad taste in our mouths, as if we'd begged for it. Breakfast was almost a loaf of bread (we don't eat bread at all, so we had to eat it because we had no choice). After some arguing, we were given some variety a couple of times. This is the first time I've encountered such a horror. The owner is working with Trip Com and assures me he doesn't deal with them and doesn't know them.

Pros: the hotel is clean, the view from the balcony is beautiful. That's all. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here; there are hotels closer to the coast, but the location of this guesthouse leaves much to be desired. There's no direct road to the beach, only back streets, so it took at least 30-40 minutes to get to the ocean.
