The worst villa experience ever – Villa 234, Boosa, Galle

Our stay here was absolutely terrible. We booked the entire villa for a relaxing day, but it turned into a complete nightmare. The keepers were extremely rude. Even though we had booked the full property, outsiders kept entering through the gates without our permission and were hanging out behind the house.

The pool was filthy and clearly not cleaned for weeks. When we asked, they said it is only cleaned in the morning, but it was full of dirt and debris. There were dead insects floating on the water and even mosquito eggs. It was so disgusting that we had to clean the pool by ourselves before using it, and we even recorded a video to show how bad the condition was. On top of that, they told us the pool would be closed by 10 p.m. If we book the whole villa, we should be able to use the facilities freely throughout our stay.

They also said there was a barbecue machine, but there wasn’t one. We had to buy our own barbecue setup, which was another major inconvenience. The bathrooms were dirty and had cockroaches. Inside the fridge, we found rotten watermelons and fruits that smelled horrible and spread a bad odor throughout the kitchen.

The rooms were very noisy because the villa is right next to the railway line. The beds were unstable and squeaky, and the bedsheets were not clean. The entire place was unpleasant, dusty, and poorly maintained. There was no water purification system either.

They mentioned that the beach was only 50 meters away, but it was unsafe for swimming, so we had to go to another beach. The owner was also rude and unhelpful. Most of the things they promised were lies. They didn’t even have a rice cooker, which is unbelievable for a villa that is supposed to be fully equipped.

Overall, this was the most disappointing and stressful vacation experience I have ever had. We went there to relax, but it only caused frustration. I would never recommend this villa to anyone.

Absolutely horrible experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were rude, unwelcoming, and only cared about getting paid ,not even a simple greeting. They kept entering the villa at all hours, even unlocking the gate in the middle of the night. It felt unsafe and completely unprofessional.
The place was filthy,the pool full of dirt and leaves, bathrooms covered in mold and cockroaches, and a fridge reeking of rotten food. The “fully equipped villa” had no rice cooker, no working WiFi, and no BBQ setup as advertised. Even the bedsheets looked unwashed.
To make it worse, staff were drinking inside the premises and the manager dismissed all our complaints.
What was meant to be a relaxing getaway turned into a stressful nightmare. Nothing here matched the pictures or promises.
Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone-not even for free.

Terrible Experience at Villa 234 – Poor Service, Restrictions, and Unenjoyable Stay

My stay at Villa 234 was far from enjoyable, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing or fun getaway. The **customer service and arrangements were extremely poor**, and it felt like everything had to be requested and done by us. The staff was unhelpful and seemed uninterested in ensuring a comfortable stay for their guests.

To start, the basic amenities were not up to standard. There was **no hot water**, and the **water pressure was too low** to even take a proper shower. The rooms were okay, but the restrictions imposed by the villa were ridiculous. They **closed the doors by 10:00 PM**, making us feel like prisoners rather than guests. People travel to enjoy and relax, not to be treated like slaves.

Additionally, we were **not allowed to go near the pool tables to have a drink**, and they **didn’t even arrange a proper table for us** to sit and enjoy. The pool itself was **not clean**, which was a huge disappointment. To make matters worse, we were **not allowed to go out after 10:00 PM**, which completely ruined our plans to enjoy the night.

Overall, Villa 234 is **not worth the money**. The lack of freedom, poor service, and unclean facilities made it impossible to enjoy our stay. It might be suitable for a short stay for couples who don’t mind restrictions, but for anyone looking to have a good time, this is not the place.

Room was not clean and the villa is very old with lack of maintenance. It’s an old hotel that needs a deep refurbishment. Personel is not kind. Bathroom was in really bad condition. Bedroom sheets found dirt. Swimming pool is not attrattive because looks dirt.
Rooms are very noisy because the hotel is between a road and the railway.
