This is also known as No. 5 Middle Street. We had to book this independently because our travel agent couldn’t find anything in Galle so we were a bit apprehensive but we needen’t have been . It was great. It is only a small 3 room boutique hotel but it is very clean, spacious, well appointed hotel serving a lovely breakfast. It is in an excellent location. The staff were very friendly, helpful and pleasant.

The hotel has only 3 rooms.The original structure was built in 1789. The recent upgrade and additions flow seemlessly together. Extremely well situated within easy walking of all the major attractions, including the Fort seawll. The room was very spacious and very clean. The bathroom is brilliant. The staff are always helpful and generous with their time.

The service at No 5 Middle Street was very good. The team looking after the place looked after us very well. The breakfasts were amazing. The room was very spacious. All in all a good stay with a friendly team of staff.

Fabulous area No 05 Middle street is located. Staff very good and Senaka was very accommodating with our request and great customer service and experience. Would definitely recommend No 05 Middle Street.

A wonderful villa! For lovers of architecture and design. The ancient building and the modern residential part are united in a single style. A night at this villa will maintain the atmosphere of a day spent in an ancient fort, but with all the modern amenities and subtle design aesthetics. Fantastically comfortable mattress. Birds sing in the garden in the morning. Saman cooks wonderfully. There is no feeling that you are in a hotel, there is a feeling that you are a guest.

The hotel is rustic and authentic. It is no generic international standard hotel by any stretch but it is classy, arty and boutique. In a quiet backstreet but an easy walk anywhere around the fort. Breakfast is delicious and very good but can become a bit repetitive if staying more than a day so a couple of other options to select would be good. Service is very good and friendly from staff.

We had the best stay at Prince of Galle. Such a lovely location, with beautiful interior design and thoughtful attention to detail. A real highlight for us was the friendly and genuinely caring service from Rukman, Kapila, and Sarengh, who made sure we were well looked after throughout our stay. The breakfast was also fantastic. Truly a little gem in Galle, we would definitely come back. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so special.

Don’t think twice about staying here, Prince of Galle is a real gem. Effortlessly stylish with classic colonial charm, perfectly located inside Galle Fort with everything within easy walking distance. The staff are exceptional and genuinely go above and beyond. Rooms are small but beautifully done and completely in keeping with the building’s character. The iced tea really is the best, and breakfast is on another level. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful colonial style hotel on a quiet side street within the fort itself. We were lucky enough to stay in the Kings Residence on the top floor. The style of the property is Sri Lankan colonial but with western comforts like air conditioning. The top floor suite includes an open plan sitting area with chairs and access to a small terrace to view the sunset.
The staff are so welcoming and pandered to our every need. The breakfast justifies its billing as superb and is a lovely combination of Sri Lankan flavours served in a western style.

Recently visited here and absolutely loved every minute of my stay. From the moment I arrived, the hotel felt special, a perfect blend of historic charm and refined modern luxury, set in a truly serene atmosphere. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable, immaculately maintained, and offered breathtaking views that made the morning memorable. What truly stood out, however, was the staff. They were warm, attentive, and sincerely welcoming, making me feel valued throughout my stay. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated, from the ambience to the service. Prince of Galle is an ideal retreat for anyone seeking relaxation, elegance, and an unforgettable experience in Galle. I would highly recommend it and would return without hesitation.
