Hotel Green Garden in Trincomalee

We booked 5 rooms (2 Family rooms, 1 Double , 2 triple bedrooms). We paid RS 109000 for HF basis. All the rooms were dirty and very smelly. None of the tvs were working. The toilet flush wasn't working in two rooms and the shower wasn't working in another. Firstly, we asked the so called manager or GM (as he mentioned one time that he is just a friend of the owner not the manager and one time mentioned manager on leave and he will come tomorrow morning) to checked these rooms and he didn't show up. Then we had to chase him and make the complaint. Once we complained and after a long argument with the so called manager they managed to give us three rooms which they have mentioned Deluxe (just the name). But has the same set of problems as previous ones. When we addressed the issues in the morning asking for a rebate, they said only that they feel sorry and then after a long discussion agreed to pay RS 6000only which was a total rubbish. Beware before you go to this place and pay for this property before inspecting rooms . The worst hotel I stayed in during my holiday in Sri Lanka and I will not recommend this place to anyone. Specially, if you are a Sri Lankan /Local. They have a separate set of rooms for foreigners. I have attached all the pictures and videos as proof. All rooms are full of dust and tvs, toilet flushes that are not working properly. A/C has loud noice that very disturbing. Very unhygienic practices We found hair in Potato curry and Pancakes

We stayed here for 2 nights, and that was more than enough. The room was dirty, there was visible mold, and the bathroom drain didn’t work – meaning the entire floor flooded after a shower. The only positives were the pool area, which was actually nice, and the fresh juices, which were delicious (though you’ll need patience – the service is very slow). They played loud techno music at the bar/pool area almost constantly, with no consideration for guests who might not want to hear it. We had to mention it several times, but nothing really changed. If we had stayed any longer, we would have found another hotel.

The stay at this hotel ruined our family vacation. It seemed like a nice hotel sometime back, but now a days it lacks the maintenance big time. There were multiple issues during our stay. 1. The key at room no 18 got stuck in the lock and the hotel staff was not providing enough attention to get it fixed. We had to put our luggage in another room and left the room unlocked until they fix it. 2. The same room had a water issue. When my mother was having a bath the water stopped and then a black powder came out from the shower. See the photos below. They could not get this fixed. And they were not seem to care enough to attend to this. They were providing various reasons for this issue and could not get it fixed. After complaining many times they agreed to change that room to the family room they had. It was also an ordinary room, but since it was late at night we had no choice other than taking that room. 3. There was no wifi at rooms. When inquired they said wifi is only available at the reception area and not at the rooms. But they advertise it in sites like ***********. There were wifi signals detected from the rooms but they simply did not provide us the password for those. It was clearly visible that they were keeping those for the foriegners and not providing to local travellers. Double standards and deceiving the customers. 4. To put the icing on the cake during checkout the card payment machine was not working and I had to go with one of the staff members to an ATM and pay with cash the whole amount. Not convenient at all. 5. There were frogs and cockroaches in the bathrooms. See photos. Apart from this the overall experience was pretty bad. The staff was not trained at all. They don't seem to know anything at all about hospitality industry. Rooms were also not cleaned properly. Everything is outdated. I had to run here and there talking to them to get the issues fixed. We were a group of 13 people and had booked 6 rooms. But we could not have the leisurely time we wanted to have due to their negligence. Finally they reduced the price of our stay around 5000 rupees, but it was not about the money. That cannot compensate for the awful time we had there. Do not ever book this hotel if you want to have a peaceful vacation.

worst customer service ever.... this hotel management have to advice the manager of this hotel, how to handle a guest. we had a terrible stay at this hotel. we all were in such a hurry to check out from this hotel. i don't recommend this hotel to any of this world. and it is not a worthy stay for the money you spend at this property.

Third rated hotel not recommended to stay. No drinking water in the room, No hot water, even no water in the rooms to shower, food is third rated no taste, not much option..No body will answer you even u put ur problems there.

Not recommended

The garden looked nice and the rooms were spacious but the bathroom was SO dirty that we decided to look for another place to stay. I put an honest review on the booking site and some guy called and kept asking me to delete it. you need to learn to be consistent with your service.
