Hotel Waldhaus in Leukerbad

Truly amazing! If you have an Indy Pass and are coming to ski Leukerbad, this is the place to stay. We came with our three kids and felt completely at home. The owners are incredibly friendly and attentive to your every need. The location is perfect. The ski tram is a short walk away and you can ski right back to the hotel (the trail down goes through a tunnel!). Then you can enjoy some of their mulled wine at the Apres ski bar outside. The food at the restaurant is delicious and the best in town. Can’t say enough good things…one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at!

The services is outstanding, very friendly and helpful, the hotel is nice but room was outdated and without a view, restaurant unfortunately was not good, breakfast simple. Hotel is located a bit further but all still reachable on foot.

This place is such a gem. For the life of me I can't figure out why it's only a "three star" hotel. It's top notch all the way. First, the staff are the most helpful and friendliest people you will ever meet. Second, tons of amazing tiny little details everywhere. This hotel is so special. Everything high-end. Finally, the view and location are perfect. We've stayed all over the word, and this is definitely one of our favorites. Oh yeah--I almost forgot--the restaurant is absolutely amazing. The food is truly spectacular. This place should be a five star hotel. It's a true hidden gem.

Easy to walk to from the bus station. Tucked away, but not too far. Close to everything! Amazing food, ambiance, hosts, views. Highly recommend staying here.

Very nice property- very friendly staff!

With the staff, the warmth of the hotel, the beauty, the cleanliness and the food, and Leukerbad. Please find a way to get here, way up in the mountains, and spend several days. There is so much to do and experience. Joshua and Lorenzo will make sure you find it all. And if you come in the winter, the Torrent ski mountain is steps down the road.

We are just back from a short visit to the Waldhaus to round out our winter holidays and had a truly marvelous time, as always! Perfect setting, impeccable service, charming accommodations, delightful dining, and amazing value for a perfect visit to a magical part of Switzerland with so much to offer. We’ve lived in Switzerland for more than a decade, have travelled the country extensively, and can say without hesitation that the Waldhaus is truly exceptional — there simply aren’t enough superlatives to give it the credit it is due! It feels like coming home each time we return and we can’t thank Evelyne, Harald, Joshua, Lorenzo, and their AMAZING team enough for the great fun and wonderful hospitality we can always be sure we’ll enjoy. Can’t wait to visit again very soon!

I booked a hotel in Leukerbad without much research after a friend recommended it. The service was excellent, and above all, it was cozy, allowing me to fully enjoy the natural beauty of Switzerland. I was also satisfied with the ability to purchase Leukerbad theme (hot spring) tickets at a low price from the hotel.

My husband and I recently spent 2 nights at Hotel Waldhaus during a two week hiking trip around Switzerland and we loved our experience! First, the property is lovely, well-styled, and well maintained. We were in a balcony room with an amazing view of the mountains. Our room was ready early (which was great after our hike from Grindelwald), it was nicely appointed, and very clean. We were on the 2nd floor which had a huge shared balcony with absolutely stunning views. Second, every single staff member we encountered was incredibly nice, kind, welcoming, and genuinely interested in making our stay special. I wish I had written down all their names so I could mention them individually (for some reason I thought I’d remember even though we stayed at 8 different places on this trip). You can tell this is a good work environment because of the staff’s outstandingly pleasant attitude. One person we interacted regularly with was Lorenzo, who took extraordinarily good care of us. Third, the FOOD! Both nights we took the fixed dinner menu and both nights were fantastic. I would consider the meals “special occasion” meals, that’s how good it the food was. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, great wine selection. During the meal Lorenzo and Joshua (a member of the family that owns/runs the restaurant) stopped by to chat with us about our day, our stay, answer any questions, and make sure everything was as expected with our experience. And it wasn’t “forced” attention - - it was comfortable and natural, and they both were genuinely interested in talking with us and ensuring that our entire experience was outstanding! I’m smiling just writing this review because it’s bringing back good memories! Thank you Waldhaus team for a wonderful stay!
