The designer has no official "star", but refers to a category of hotels class "luxury". The hotel is situated in the centre of Zermatt, on a cliff towering 45 metres above the resort. Passing through the tunnel in the rock, visitors ascend by Elevator to the hotel lobby to a height of 1649,40 meters above sea level. Most of the furniture and furnishings of the hotel custom hotel is included into group of design hotels. On the interior of the hotel was created by such famous designers and architects like Ali Tayar, Mies van der Rohe, Raymond Loewy, Vladimir Kagan and Eero Saarinen. All rooms have balconies and a breathtaking view of the mountain Rothorn, Stockhorn, Gornergrat, Monte Rosa or the Matterhorn.

Location: in the centre of the resort, on the slopes (the hotel guests climb aboard a special lift), about 800 m from the nearest ski lift. Distance to nearest airports: Geneva - 255 km, Zurich - 265 km.

This hotel is amazing. The staff is so friendly and they made my kids feel very special with welcome gifts. The hotel is very luxurious, clean, and modern. Great location and by far the nicest hotel in Zermatt. The restaurant is excellent. Get a room with views of the Matterhorn. The pool and hot tub are phenomenal. If you decide to ski, everything will be ready for you in the locker room - they make it so easy. I highly recommend staying here!

Food : is good. A lot of effort is put in and love the creativity. Flavourful like a party in all your senses. But definitely room for more variety. The sauces overlapped during the 4 course meal which is a bit disappointing.
People: nice staff. It was a birthday celebration but they didn't do anything special like the other restaurants do
Verdict: if you are looking for fancy food, compromise on flavour, then sure check it out. It's not the worst but not the best either.

Fantastic cuisine! Dishes are generally vegetarian but you can order meat or fish extra.
I tried the "surprise" menu and was not disappointed.
The service is especially good. Highly recommend it.

Outstanding property, service was exceptional, from the moment you arrive, you are greeted by name and offered a welcome drink out on the deck facing the Matterhorn. The rooms are well appointed and large. Would not hesitate to stay here again, nor would I hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Great place. I went here for lunch with a small group and the waiters were great, and the food was amazing. Sat outside and they made it very comfortable, despite it having rained only a few hours earlier. Beautiful designs top off the experience. Make sure. You bring your big-boy credit cards though, as it is pricey, but worth it.

Update September 2020: 13 years in still my favorite hotel. This time we were there for nine days, three including our family, and had an exceptional stay from start to finish. We'll be back the latest in 2021!

My favorite hotel (I have been going since 2007). A consistantly outstanding team, comfortable rooms with all the finishings (including a change of mattress if need be), a restaurant that fits very well with the hotel. Great hiking around Zermatt and a hot tub and spa to enjoy after. I love everything about this place.

Splendid hotel. I could not fault it for anything. The staff of very helpful and courteous without being too pretentious (except for one receptionist). The reception is particularly helpful and can book your ski tickets directly from the hotel. The hotel also has a deal with one of the best ski rental shops (Stoked), which places your gear in your room’s locker underneath the hotel (since the hotel has its own elevator which cuts the mountain, straight down to the main street). The food quality is something else. The drinks expertly crafted and the spirits menu is very well put together. Being perched on the mountain, you get sweeping views of the town. Make sure you try the open air jacuzzi while surrounded in snow. The hotel also has a swimming pool which is both in-door and out-door.

Gourmets connoisseurs of high cuisine from chefs, awarded Michelin stars - will truly appreciate this restaurant. The atmosphere is quite formal, only a few tables, but this does not prevent you from feeling relaxed and enjoying, in addition to the high cuisine, communicating with your dining partners. The tables are large and located far apart from each other in a spacious room. Before dinner, you can enjoy an aperitif, sitting on comfortable sofas in front of the fireplace. The service is excellent, the food is excellent, with an extensive wine list. As an aperitif, I ordered a dry martini and it was not really good - a lot of vermouth and ice inside, however, this is definitely not a reason why, I would not recommend this restaurant for gourmets and connoisseurs of high service.
