An excellent stay in an excellent location! A lot of the bad reviews on here seem to be when the hotel was under old management so don’t be alarmed! The rooms were as the pictures show - clean, neat & a perfect size for a city break. The hotel is directly outside of the ‘Haldenegg’ tram stop and although it takes 10 mins longer according to google maps (opposed to getting the train), I HIGHLY recommend getting the tram when arriving as the hotel is up very steep hills and/or steps of walking from the centre. I also really enjoyed the fact that your room ‘key’ was a unique code, emailed to you the day of check-in. This may be off-putting to less techy travellers though, and there is no personnel on a check in desk to advise if you’re confused with the system. There are a small few downsides if you’re nitpicky, but these didn’t bother us. There was no aircon in the rooms and the top floors get VERY hot - although we went in March so the temperature was bearable once a window was open. There was no daily room-cleaning service where your bed would be made or towels changed, but as we were only there for 3 days this didn’t bother us at all. Also, if you have a front facing room as we did, the tram can be slightly noisy but as we were always early risers this was bearable for us. Overall, a really great stay and I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Zurich, mainly for its price point and location

Ridiculously early check out 10am they even knocked on the door! I asked for a late check out and was refused. International check out time was 12 before COVID. Room ok.

Royal Hotel Zürich offers a very pleasant stay with welcoming, accommodating, and friendly staff who go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, making for an enjoyable experience overall. My only minor disappointment was that the exterior building photos on the Chase Travel Portal felt a bit misleading compared to the actual appearance. Despite this, the excellent service and quality of the accommodations made up for it. A solid choice for a stay in Zürich!

We spent only one night in this hotel, but it was a good experience. The hotel is located within walking distance of the train station and city center, but not so close that it is overly noisy. It is also right on the tram line from the airport, so it is easily reached without a lot of cost. Our room was a bit small, which is not surprising for a European hotel, but one section of the ceiling came down right above the bed making getting in an out a little tricky. The hotel is right across the street from a church, and the church bells were a joy to hear in the evening The person who checked us in was pleasant, but the night desk person seemed to be on the phone making personal calls all the time.

The room is plain and simple, but comfortable with a good bed. Our room faced the street, but it was pretty quiet. Very convenient to walking downtown and streetcars to the airport.

The staff was absolutely wonderful. Very personable, and they really helped us out of a jam locating a bag we'd left at the airport. They couldn't do enough for us while we stayed with them.

When we heard the price of the breakfast, we thought we'd check around -- it seemed expensive, but we'd just landed in Switzerland. Turns out, it's quite a good deal -- great food (the best rolls we've had in almost two weeks, nicely done eggs and a great selection of cheeses, fruits, and other goodies). Plus, all the coffee you can drink, rather than by the cup.

My only regret: No coffee maker in the room.

The hotel was a wonderful surprise! Our room was on the 6th floor with beautiful floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city & mountains. The room was very clean, as was garaged parking spaces. Breakfast was fresh and the hotel manager super friendly and helpful.

The location could not be beat. 1 stop from the station with the tram literally opening in front of the hotel doors. Also right on the tram line to the airport.

We will definitely stay there again!

I really do recommend this hotel! The breakfast is good, rooms are clean and very comfortable, it’s near the old town and train station. And the staff is great. Special thank’s to Nadine for her kindness and recommendations for dining and sighseeing.

Excellent service. Nadine (hotel manager) took her time to help us. If not we would have been excluded from all restaurants due to Covid restrictions. Staff extremely knowledgeable about Zurich; restaurants, travel and sites.

Great location. Breakfast very expensive so didn't bother. Friendly staff and super clean.

The Royal Hotel is situated in a quiet though centrally placed neighborhood, on crawling distance from the universities and walking distance to the train center and the city center. The hotel staff is great, and a special shoutout to Nadine who is a great host! They made our stay very comfortable and were very flexible with regards to check in and check out. I will definitely come back in the future, both for business and for leisure
