The Hotel is, without a doubt, one of the finest hotels we've had the pleasure of staying in. Everything here exudes quiet luxury – not the flashy kind, but the kind that whispers “old money” and glides rather than walks

There's a sense of space and privacy throughout – you can truly relax here, and that’s becoming harder to find these days. If we had to point out one, it would be this: with great luxury comes a certain kind of guest

Never fussy, always flawlessly timed, the staff knows when to appear and assist and, more importantly, when not to. The rooms? Spotless, polished, and so well maintained they could pass for brand new

We took the e-bikes to the City and back. The beach Bar was out of this World. Breakfast spread was very good

This is the sort of place where fellow guests don’t so much greet you as assess you. A raised brow here, a barely perceptible glance there – one feels not unwelcome, but rather under review

Incredibly beautiful park and beach! My 6 year old grandson thinks this hotel is the best in the world ? Of particular note is the excellent food.

The situation by the lake but fairly close to the train station is excellent

Short walk into town, breakfast was pleasant on terrace, private parking available for 19CHF/night. Would definitely recommend and stay here again in the near future!

Nice location - easy walking to train, along lake ( both directions) and dining options Older building needing some upgrades (eg outlets for the floor lamp and coffee maker!) Lobby a bit tight, and understaffed at checkin

The friendliness of the staff in general is ok. The pool is nicely integrated into the garden, but the pool looks a bit dirty, milky and not clear

The view of the lake from our room was amazing. The hotel staff was friendly (Marco at check-in was great), and the room was extremely clean! Lovely amenities with a hand written note from manager

The environment is beautiful and the transportation is convenient. Although it is a bit far from the train station, it is still walkable. The hotel breakfast is very rich and delicious

This historic hotel is modernised to a high standard. It is very clean and comfortable. We had a lake facing room with a balcony and the views were magical. The staff were helpful and friendly

The restaurant serves high quality food and is popular. The funicular railway is nearby and this saves walking up the steep hill into the town. The hotel has its own request stop

It was spacious and spotless with an EPIC panoramic view of the lake, the Alps and the city down below. We loved our balcony and spent a lot of time out there staring in awe at the stunning landscape day and night

Upon arrival, we were assigned a room in one of the newer buildings with a rather disappointing view and an awkward lay-out that didn’t match what was in my minds eye nor the room category we secured

We didn’t enjoy the Piazza Grande (old town) as much as we thought we would and preferred spending our days wandering the lake promenade as well as the area’s above the hotel including the gondola & chairlift to Cardada and Cimetta; stunning vista’s! We absolutely LOVED the neighboring town of Ascona

Comfortable hotel in a well-known spot in Locarno, very close to the town centre. It is on the slope on the way to Madonna del Sasso, can reach either the town or the convent in 10-15 mins by foot

Everything was very nice; very friendly staff, very clean, and the food was delicious and tasty. I would recommend it to everyone.

While the whirlpool area was attractively decorated, the strong chlorine smell was unpleasant. The room was spacious and exceptionally clean—one of the cleanest hotels I've ever experienced

Large rooms with beautiful view over the lake, interior is a bit dated. Liked the breakfast buffet, with choice of vegan milk and some special vegan food options. Close to the train station and the Piazza Grande.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I recommend this house to all tourists visiting Minusio Prices are OK for Switzerland. You get vouchers with price reductions to eat in very good restaurants of the town

Located just outside of Locarno, this is the perfect hotel for a Ticino vacation. A friendly welcome, clean rooms, and a breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired. The pool with loungers is another plus

The rooms are clean and the prices are relatively reasonable, but it is advisable to book early and online. You can have brunch in the Hotel-café on the piazza in the morning, but this is charged separately

The staff are very friendly and attentive. All in all, highly recommended for an affordable short break in the Locarno-Ascona region. The breathtakingly beautiful Centovalli area is just 10 minutes away by bus/train

The Hotel America is located right on Locarno's wonderful Piazza Grande. Here you can enjoy Mediterranean piazza life to the fullest

Wonderful garden and pool with stunning views over Lago Maggiore… the food at the Restaurant is great, the wine overpriced. The only thing we really did not like that much was the room which really needs renovation

We will 100% be coming back. The picnic is a must on a sunny day. The amenities and gym and gorgeous as well. The wine tasting and massage were also wonderful. We can’t recommend this gorgeous spot enough.

The bed was not comfortable and it was super hot during nights. The aircon didn’t really work… albeit being the entry level room, it was just too small for a 5star hotel

We would love to come back but the other 5 star resorts in the region eg Giardino just offer much more for the same price…

The pool/snack bar was certainly overwhelmed during the peak days and seating was limited and service hard to get - so may have just been a staffing issue. BUT everything else was so lovely we would definitely stay again

All of the room options are very close to the main lobby/pool area. Breakfast buffet was great and pool so nice. Although in the summer we did need to get down early to grab pool chairs before they were all taken

The front desk was friendly but somewhat limited in being able to suggest good restaurants in town. My only complaint is the restaurant and bar staff tended to always come across stressed and rude

Maybe it was because we were American (although we used our limited German) but the service was definitely not as friendly for what I'd expect in a hotel of this caliber

Probably one of the most child friendly hotels we have been in Switzerland. Excellent facilities and huge green park to play table tennis, soccer , Minigolf, swings and even toys

I stayed at the Parkhotel in July with my husband and 9 year old daughter. It was lovely! The pictures do not do it justice - the hotel is so much better in person

The gentlemen are welcome to take an example from this. The entire hotel area is beautiful with a huge garden and a small pool. I would love to come back and recommend you to all my friends

Quite old, but renovated hotel with nice view, swimming pool, sauna and excellent breakfast. You will be served with various tasty sorts of cheese and their own grape

This family-run hotel has everything we needed: comfortable room; generous sized bathroom; lovely linens and towels; excellent restaurant with a diverse menu; parking and important for us accommodating for our two dogs

After a difficult drive over the mountain pass in a storm it was such a great experience to be received with such a warm welcome by the staff at hotel Stella

They gave us bigger than the room we have booked. It was nice room with good view in the morning. Negatives: The breakfast is one of the poorest i have ever seen with a plate of yellow cheese and a plate of sausage

The hotel is central, on the main square in Locarno, and close to the lake. Checking in and out was efficient. The hotel also has a restaurant but we didn't eat there

This simple, budget hotel is very good value for money. It is clean and comfortable, if a bit old. The breakfast buffet was also good value for money

The pool and garden area are very relaxing in the afternoons. The Ticino tickets provided by the hotel are great for using public transport - particularly the bus into Locarno or to go to Ascona

Lovely weekend in Locarno It exceeded our expectations! We had a small apartment, and the hotel was centrally located yet very quiet. Everything was perfect!

Very convenient to downtown Locarno. Staff very helpful! Breakfast excellent! Parking was tough! Very tight access and spaces. Laundry turned out to be one washer and one dryer in the basement

The Ticinio Ticket (issued to us by the hotel) gave free travel on all public transport in the Ticino area, and also discounts on various attractions. The local bus and train service was efficient and reliable

Breakfast was included in the price and was superb - with a selection of breads, croissants (locally made), local jams, meats and cheese. We ate breakfast outside on the terrace each day which was nice

We caught the Centovalli Train to Domodosolla (over the border in Italy), which passes through stunning landscapes. Travel on this train is free with Ticino ticket as fas as the border with Itally
