We took a 34-day self-driving tour from Beijing, China to Europe, and visited France, Italy, and Switzerland. Extremely dated rooms in every way (electrical outlets, lighting, furniture...etc). However, excellent value for money, considering we are in Switzerland.

Downtown area, our stay was on a separate building so it was an apartment building not a hotel room. It was ok but no air conditioning. Would not recommend for summer hot days.

Accessing the property is difficult. Street parking is very hard to find, and the road design in Locarno makes it harder to navigate. The rooms also have no AC. It can be very loud at night to open the windows because it’s at the plaza.

In an old hotel, we arranged an attic room with a glass window on the roof, which is exposed to the sun. It is really deceiving whether there is air conditioning or not.

The surrounding environment is very good. Very clean.

after baddest experience with ibis, I must admit this is a very nice hotel, just 5min walk from the train slation, just a little higher up, offering a nice view of the lake even from lateral hotel windows. modern ambiente, upgraded facilities, comfy lobby and fast WiFi, will chose this again in march.

A warm welcome with competent service. Well-equipped rooms with extremely comfortable beds. An excellent, extensive breakfast buffet. A prime location with convenient bus connections to Locarno and Ascona (every 10-15 minutes).

Located just outside of Locarno, this is the perfect hotel for a Ticino vacation. A friendly welcome, clean rooms, and a breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired. The pool with loungers is another plus. I would happily recommend it.

A quiet small hotel sitting above the Lage Maggiore which is a 10 minute walk away. Very friendly service and good breakfast offering. Fridge in the room. Beds was too soft for me. Rather old-fashioned look of the room and bathroom and very small TV.

Giving this a 3 because the air conditioner didn’t work and staff only gave us a bottle of cold water. This is an important issue during warmer times and it disturbed our sleep. Other than that, a fun hotel very walkable to the waterfront, station, Grand Piazza. Bus to Ascona is right outside and free with Ticino visitor card. Satisfying breakfast. A good Ibis hotel.

5 stars motivated by the positioning of the hotel (Lake and town are so close) and the welcome we received at this familly hotel, best value for money and warm atmosphere. No fancy experience but just what is needed to spend a wonderfull stay and enjoy the city.

Nice hotel close to the city center (less than 10 minutes walk). It is very close to the lake and in a very quite area. The hotel personnel is nice and ready to answer to your questions. The room is simple and clean. One star less than the maximum because I prefer the shower and because the breakfast that is good but not excellent.

Our check-in was fantastic as we were provided some options for things to do and sights to see. The hotel is conveniently located in a cute square with multiple restaurants and the hotel’s restaurant has fabulous Mushroom risotto and Aperol Spritz.

charming hotel, front desk guy was SO helpful & nice. it is hard to find - i stopped at a pharmacy to ask for location, they didn't know & it was about 3 minute walking beyond. to find it, you can walk from the train station (10-15 min) towards the main plaza, keep going almost to the end. on the right tucked in the back, after the shops, is the entrance. only complaint is no tv channels in english...

The stuff is very friendly and fast. Paccheri are tasty (both, with sausage and vegetarian). The location is great, the price is very good for such place. They have outdoor seats directly at the piazza. There is also a hotel. Shade available, so you don’t burn in the sun.

Quite old, but renovated hotel with nice view, swimming pool, sauna and excellent breakfast. You will be served with various tasty sorts of cheese and their own grape. Very diligent and polite staff puts a lot of effort so that their guests feel cosy. Downside is poor public transportation and limited parking lot that is against surcharge.

Quiet place. Nice point of view. The room we've got was clean and fully renovated. But the owners have to think to renovated the rest of the hôtel. The bar under the Hotel is owned by a really unpleasant and impolite old woman. We prefered to go to the beautiful bar down the road.

Positives: Parking on site. They gave us bigger than the room we have booked. Thanks. It was nice room with good view in the morning. Negatives: The breakfast is one of the poorest i have ever seen with a plate of yellow cheese and a plate of sausage.The coffee was terrible. The other food was some creams and yoghurt, some cornflakes.

Giardino Lago is a gem of a hotel - an all-around gem. The location, right on the lake, is peaceful; a truly beautiful setting. The rooms were comfortable and welcoming (with AC). I loved riding the hotel's provided bikes into town - only 9 minutes away. It was perfect! I cam away happy with all my needs met when I stayed there.
