Zanzibar White Sand Luxury Villas & Spa in Paje

My stay at the Zanzibar White Sand Luxury Resort & Spa was incredible. The location is just perfect with direct beach access, and I really appreciated how safe it felt – there's security around so nobody bothers you, which makes such a difference. We stayed in one of the villas and honestly, it had everything. Private pool with loungers and hammocks, really good air conditioning, a kitchen with a coffee machine and free soft drinks that got restocked daily. The rooftop with seating areas was our favorite spot for evening drinks. Loved the little touches like proper books in the living room and bedroom, and the mosquito net around the bed meant we slept perfectly. Two showers too – one inside and one outside. The resort itself has a nice boutique, a larger main pool, and a spa that's worth visiting. They use their own cosmetics which smell amazing. The jacuzzi in +30 weather felt a bit weird honestly, but still nice for a quick dip. For anyone who likes to stay active, there's tennis and padel courts, plus a center where you can book kitesurfing lessons and other stuff. We did the Jozani Forest trip and Stone Town tour which the hotel arranged smoothly. But the absolute highlight was the day cruise – snorkeling, landing on a sandbank, and the freshest grilled food prepared right on the yacht. Now let's talk about food because wow. The kitchen here is next level, seriously better than many high-end hotels I've stayed at in Europe. Everything tastes amazing, from the bread and pastries (genuinely better than France) to the butter mixed with local spices, to the steaks and seafood cooked perfectly. The only small thing was the Friday local cuisine night – the food was simpler and not quite at the same standard. But honestly, the live band playing that night was so good and energetic that it totally made up for it and we had a blast anyway. If I had to mention one tiny thing, it's the butler service. We weren't really sure what they were for since the reception team handled everything via WhatsApp super quickly anyway. Not a complaint, just an observation. Overall though, this place is something special. If you want luxury, privacy, and food that will blow your mind, book it.

The best of the best you can find on this island. Location - amazing (a huge white sand beach, a wonderfully curated garden); accomodation - superb (pristine clean, comfortable, spacious rooms); food - unbelievable (quality of ingredients, the way dishes are prepared and delivered, all is top); personnel - wonderful (Hamida we miss you, but also Janeth and all other waiters, Haji the driver, and every smiling people working there). Madame Valerie is a fantastic manager - she clearly knows how to run such a jewel perfectly well. A final mention for Monica - I hope she will endure at White Sand and be there when we’ll be back next time! This is a nest, a shelter from all is noisy, vulgar and grey - the colors of the sea, the tides, the animals (red monkeys waking us up in the morning!). Go to White Sand if you wish to set yourself apart from the World and forget about everything for a while.

A fantastic place. The staff is incredibly nice, monkeys come and go in the trees, the spa is perfect and the food is excellent with some nice happenings : local artists are often invited to play music and dance. Thanks to Valerie, the general manager, to Ramadhan, the nicest buttler you'll ever meet, and all the staff : Beatrice, Doreen, Karoline, Moudric the guide, Evelyne and Moreen at the spa... we hope to come back next year ! R&C’s White Sand Villas in Zanzibar was an exceptional venue for our family’s New Year getaway. We left another property in the northwest of Zanzibar when two rooms were available last minute for a stay here. The grounds are impeccable and blend in beautifully with the natural white sand surroundings. The allure of kite surfers is magnificent from the clean, not-busy beach. The villas are extremely well-appointed, the food marvelous at every turn, and the facilities clean and modern…we are amazed that it is a 12-year old property. We also enjoyed the local music at dinner; the musicians did not interfere with dinner conversation and provided a lovely backdrop. And finally, the staff was great. Our room ambassador Felister went to great lengths to meet our every need, and Rosemary (breakfast/lunch) and Christina (dinner) always took care of our dietary needs. We enjoyed bumping into the GM, Valerie, every day of our stay. The beach comes and goes, depending on the significant changes between high and low tide. This requires some planning for beach swimmers and is simply the only thing to contend with at this wonderful property.

A Slice of Paradise – With a French Twist! I’m staying at White Sand Luxury Villas right now, and honestly… it’s everything a Relais & Châteaux hotel should be — relaxed luxury with zero fuss and lots of “oh wow” moments. Valérie, the manager (a fabulous French lady), runs the place beautifully. You can feel her touch everywhere: stylish, calm, and just the right amount of chic. The staff are wonderful — warm, smiling, and somehow always appear exactly when you need something. And the food! Absolutely fabulous — beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavour. Every meal feels like a treat, the sort that makes you quietly happy you booked this place. The villas are huge, the beach is postcard-perfect, and the whole place has that magical “I might never leave” feeling. If you’re looking for proper barefoot luxury with personality, this is it. Absolutely loved it

Wow! We had an amazing time here. Spent 4 nights in one of their garden villas - beautiful and spacious room. Enjoyed some of the upgrades like the Dyson blow dryer and portable Bose speaker which you could use in the room and take to the beach. Food was delicious - we did half board (breakfast and dinner) which we thought was a great value. We loved the complimentary activities that the resort offered - cooking class, African night by the pool with dance performance, bicycles, kayaks, tennis equipment. All the staff were amazing including our butler Pious. Thank you for an amazing trip!!

Recently, I had the immense pleasure of collaborating with all details.me on a tailor made trip to Zanzibar. Despite the short timeline, the team not only managed every detail seamlessly but exceeded my highest expectation. The resort is stunning, surrounded by turquoise waters, bougainvilleas, lush palms tress and powdered white sand. The staff were incredibly warm, helpful and welcoming. The food is top notch. Each meal was a journey of its own - fresh seafood, Swahili flavors and stunning beachfront settings. That felt like both indulgent and intimate. The itinerary was exquisitely curated, blending relaxation with authentic immersion. From sunset yoga to cooking local cuisine. When I first arrived, I was just hoping for a restful escape. But what I found was so much more. I left Zanzibar not only recharged but with a deeper appreciation for the island, its people and its culture. A truly magical escape and unforgettable experience.
