Avoid this place at all cost, things are seriously bad here. Our problem was that we had money stolen from a locked safe in our room. This happened on two occasions, when it first happened we couldn’t believe it, so we left it to the next day, and then it happened again. When discussing this with the manager the reaction was that he seemed to have very little interest in solving the matter, he was mostly worried about minimizing the compensation. Eventually we found a compromize where we got compensation for the lost money. We didn’t get any apologies though. Naturally we left the place right away and booked in to another one. The place itself is also not in very good shape. A lot of people hang around there but very few seem interested in working. Like somebody else already mentioned the pool is in bad shape, there’s **** growing on the walls. So do yourself a favour, stay away from this place.

Type of place you would like to keep secret ! If you are looking for a quiet very beautiful hotel this place is perfect. The big pool is wonderful facing the sea, the construction of the restaurant is impressive and original, the bar beautiful and the hotel offers some nice and easy activities. Bedrooms very clean and decorated with taste. We had a crush for this hotel not only because it is Lovely but specially thanks to the human spirit of Roger, his charming owner and his Team, welcoming and very careful to any detail. Many thanks we hope we can come back soon !

Now back from our second time staying here and cannot wait to be back already! It is bliss with a lovely swimming pool and very accommodating and kind staff. The food is great (many local dishes) with good portion sizes, cocktails are delicious and the beach is beautiful. Special mention to Roger, the manager, who was so delightfully accommodating, organising any day trips we wanted to do and who came up to check on us every dinner time. This place has a special place in our hearts and will definitely be back soon.

Very nice place but isolated from everything, meals and drinks very expensive (ordinary bottle of wine at 25€), we are alone on 10/02 in this hotel with 12 rooms, some hotels in the surrounding area with more people, pleasant but dirty swimming pool, direct access to the sea which depending on the tides is accessible but we do not lose our footing and the water is as warm as a bath so we do not cool down

This resort was truly perfect for us. Beautifully situated directly on the beach, quiet and away from the hustle and bustle, very well managed and exceptionally tastefully decorated. It was simply stunningly beautiful; each room had its own little house with a veranda, and the small, intimate grounds were dotted with fine white sand and exotic flowering shrubs. Everything was constantly maintained and raked. The food was excellent, from the wonderful breakfast to lunch, teatime, and dinner! The resort has an ecological approach and supports the local community by using only local products, and the staff comes from Zanzibar. We were treated with exceptional warmth and always very friendly care! Thank you for a truly wonderful vacation! The Jenne family from Stuttgart

The hotel is in a very quiet location, if you are looking for rest, this is it! The rooms are simple and clean, close to the beach: 10m... The food is very good with varied dishes. The fruit juices are freshly squeezed, the coconut picked directly from the coconut tree. Attentive and welcoming staff. We were very happy to spend a few days in this hotel.

Wow…such a holiday!!
If you’re looking for a nice, natural and quiet place where to spend your holiday in Zanzibar, Ujamaa is the right place!
Me and my family (3 kids) are already missing the environment of this place and all the super nice guys at the bar and restaurant…Isaac, Martin and the girls have been always so nice, introducing us in Tanzanian culture and serving good cocktails and great food!
The houses are really nice and typical, everything here is genuine and relaxing.
The place is far away from the crowded touristic areas, so it takes a while for reaching the main attractions of Zanzibar, but when you come back here after a nice tour, that’s magic!!

This really is a wonderful place everything you need to relax. Small place, just 12 rooms, perfectly formed! Superb outlook, great bungalow accommodation, fabulous team of well trained locals led by one of the coolest and most efficient guys I have come across. Roger the Rasta is on it and you wouldn't even know it. Great choice of food and reasonably priced. Plenty of varieties of drinks and if you want something specific for your stay Roger and his team will oblige. Nothing seems too much. My daughters had a number of spa treatments as did some of the other guests who were there and all came back glowing. There were some low key, very entertaining events put on that got all guests hooked. Would definitely like to return soon!

Such a fantastic place, the surroundings are beautiful and the atmosphere so peaceful. This is the perfect spot to relax and feel far away from busy everyday life. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The bungalows were clean and very nicely decorated. We loved the local basket and sun hat provided in the rooms and high quality shampoo and soaps from Inaya Zanzibar. The food was great and we miss so much the delicious fresh juices and fantastic breakfasts! The swimming pool and pool area is lovely. We also loved the private beach and ocean swimming during high tide. The beach is peaceful, clean and has stunning views. We definitely wish to come back to this wonderful and idyllic place :)
