African Paradise Beach Hotel in Bwejuu

On arrival we received a warm welcome from Pia and Hasim the owners, with a welcome drink and cake. The 6 Bedroom Hotel was set in a perfect location with direct access to the quiet powdery white sand beach, but only a short distance to Paje, if you wanted something more lively. We stayed in the beautifully decorated and very clean 2 Bedroom Suite with private balcony and seaview overlooking the pool and beach.
Pia, Hasim and their excellent staff were so attentive to their guest needs throughout our 11 night stay, even to the extent of offering guests a Free Boat Snorkeling Trip, unlimited tea and coffee throughout the day, everyday, plus free cakes in the afternoons.
The food they served was excellent from the large 3 plate breakfast, consisting of a Fruit Plate, a Meze or Waffle/Pancake Plate and finished off with an Egg Plate with Toast. The lunch and evening meal menu had a good variation of dishes from local to western meals to suit everyone's palette, of which every meal we had was very good, especially the fish and seafood, plus the wali maharage.
Then at the end of our stay before we left the African Paradise, Pia and Hasim even gave us leaving gifts, to help us remember our memorable stay with them at their Hotel/House.

The hosts and staff are incredibly kind, attentive, and always go the extra mile. The hotel is so peaceful and comfortable that we ended up spending most of our time there instead of going on excursions. Great food with generous portions, lovely beach atmosphere, and even a complimentary boat/snorkeling trip to enjoy with other guests. Truly a home away from home. Highly recommended – 11/10!

African Paradise was a fantastic place to stay in the south of Zanzibar. It is located right on the beach, although note that the tide changes drastically during the day.

The hotel is clean and rooms are well-equipped. A fantastic breakfast is served every morning. There is also a great lunch and dinner menu.

Customer service is great; the staff and management are all so friendly and went above and beyond to help make the stay seamless. Despite checking out before breakfast officially opened, they made a nice breakfast bag with sandwiches to take away.

One thing to note is that it can be quite difficult to find as you need to follow several small dirt roads to find the hotel, and it isn’t the easiest to navigate or drive down!

African Paradise in Bwejuu, Zanzibar truly lives up to its name 🌴✨ After reading the positive reviews from other guests, my expectations were high—and somehow, this place exceeded them. From the moment you arrive, you feel an incredible sense of calm and warmth. The atmosphere is peaceful, beautifully authentic, and perfectly designed for total relaxation.

The hotel looks amazing the outside and although we only saw the restaurant area and beachfront poolside the style, vibe
And ambiance are top tier!! The owner are so so sweet and welcoming, with a huge smile super attentive and kind! As well as the staff!
The food was incredible! I highly recommend the coconut fish it was delicious! And the fried pineapple with ice cream for desert !

We are leaving this small hotel today with the greatest feelings for our stay there. Beautiful Boho decoration, small restaurant for all meals and drinks, super cute and friendly local staff, amazing beach and great views just in front. Bicycles, canoe, snorkeling gear, beach towels and a lot of pampering from the hotel staff to help you rest and enjoy. On top of that the owners take the hospitality to the next level by making you feel that you are hosted by family members and not just staying in a hotel. Highly recommended for people who want to rest and recharge batteries. Other beautiful beach bars and restaurants also available In walking distance. Bonus point, they offered us a snorkeling trip for free

At first, we almost canceled our stay because the hotel didn't have a pool, which our daughter loves. But we're so glad we didn't!

This hotel was a LOVELY surprise like no other. We had to switch from a nearby hotel after five nights, and it turned out to be the BEST decision. The hotel is like a hidden treasure, made with SO MUCH love by the staff and owners. Pia was so kind and made us feel at home STRAIGHT AWAY!

Our family room felt more like a house, it’s huge, like a big apartment! Even though there was no AC, the cool breeze in Bwejuu and two fan made it comfortable. The food was so amazing and delicious!!! The hotel is simple when it comes to the structure, but VERY clean and charming, right by the beach. Beds are super comfortable!! This Hotel felt even better than many fancy 5-star hotels I've been to.

We enjoyed meeting and playing with local kids, which made us feel like part of the community. Our stay was perfect, except for the days when they didn't have their WORLD’S most delicious pancakes for breakfast! 🤣🤪

We spent a week in this hotel two years ago. I still remember the wonderful atmosphere and wonderful owners. I usually don't go back to places I've already been to - I prefer visiting new ones, but I'm sure I'll come back there. This place is beautiful and quiet, rooms are comfortable and clean. Delicious breakfasts, excellent food in the restaurant. The beach a few steps away. Owners take care of everything and help with everything - they thought of literally everything that guests could need.
Hotel is very intimate, you can really relax and breathe there.

The African Pradise Beach Hotel was literally PARADISE! Highly recommend this hotel. Most happy moments when we have a Tanzania honeymoon trip were the days with this hotel. l got never forgettable memories.

True paradise, absolutely earned a 10/10. I have travelled a lot but never had experienced such great hospitality. The place is a gem and the entire team make you so welcome and feel at home. It feels like a home away from home. The atmosphere is chilled and it is easy to enjoy your privacy but also to talk to other guests. I can 200%. Recommend!
