Phuphaya Seaview Resort in Phi Phi Island

During our stay, we noticed several issues in the room, including insects visible in different areas such as near the bed and the toilet. We also had some skin reactions during the night. The cleanliness of the towels and bathroom could be improved, and the room had a high level of humidity and an unusual smell. There were also small openings in the floor and walls where insects could enter. The hotel does not have a bar, restaurant, or Wi-Fi available. Access to the property involves a very steep slope, which may be challenging for guests with reduced mobility. Communication at the reception was sometimes difficult due to language limitations, and the team was unable to offer another room during our stay. We decided to leave earlier than planned based on these conditions.

Cockroaches in the room and no breakfast as promised. No room service (rooms weren't cleaned). Also, very loud music at night made sleeping nearly impossible. The service staff wasn't very friendly. Next time, I'd rather stay somewhere else.

One of the main reasons you come to a hotel is to sleep. This place unfortunately failed on this big time. We therefore had no choice but to leave the property asap after the first night. When asking the host about this they deem it acceptable because they have put it on their Airbnb Profile and is therefore not a problem. We could not sleep because it felt like we were inside a boombox. The noise from 15m walk away was not only heard but felt. This was not helped by the gap in the broken window that may have reduced the noise slightly. If the lack of sleep we got was not due to the noise it would have inevitably been due to the thin pillows or the see through curtains. The endless other issues encountered included broken lights, cobwebs over lights, marks on walls, long black hairs on bed, crusty towels, expired so potentially unsafe AC, broken jacuzzi, no shampoo, no amenities such as ironing board, kettle. There is no tea and coffee in room but if you go to the bar you can get an instant coffee sachet. But this is not free. There is very low shower pressure and a poor cabbage drainage smell however we understand this may be more of a widespread issue across the island. There is no WiFi in the bungalow and though on Airbnb it states we are staying in someone's home, do not be misled by this as this is actually part of a resort and not someone's home. The pool and the terrace area just in case you miss the smallprint is not private and shared with all the other refunds. Although we agreed to meet someone on arrival they did not come for 35m. Though we appreciate greatly their service and care, we were disappointed at the lack of guidance of where to meet them. Finally, we were astonished at the lack of care or concern by Chompoo. We had provided ample opportunity to gain understanding over the issues but there was no refund offered or even when we offered a compromise and would accept the night we didn't stay in refund this was ignored. It is shocking not even an apology was given. Chompoo was defensive and suggested our list of problems encountered were not valid as "other guests enjoy the property fine" and explains the property is designed for backpackers who make up 99% of visitors. This made us feel we were being unreasonable. In a nutshell if you want to sleep on holiday don't go here.

Bungalows are average, the woman at the reception didn’t help us for anything, the breakfast (included) was average but I appreciate to not have to walk down every morning.
Just don’t order to the restaurant, the food is disgusting, only one vegetarian option.
WiFi doesn’t work almost at all.
Really appreciate : the kind guy who came to the pier for our luggages, you need to hike uphill to access the resort.

Its in a nice location about 15 minutes away from the party beach area with a nice pool. However I wouldn’t recommend staying at Phuphaya Seaview Resort. The bungalow rooms are extremely hot. The air conditioning is very bad and the room traps the heat, so it’s much hotter inside then outside. After a few hours of sweltering heat I ended up sleeping outside on the balcony of my room to escape the heat.
