The hostel is just 100 meters away from the beach and there is a really cheap foodmarket close too...
The Hostel itself has Air-conditioned rooms and could be described as no frills all comfort. Casaviva Inn is surrounded by coffee shops and small local restaurants or you can eat on the Beach with the locals. You can also take a local "Baht Bus" to anywhere in the city for very cheap (Pierre will tell you how to handle bartering for fare prices). There is even a very nice massage parlor right across the street that can give you a nice relaxing "happy ending" after a long days shopping ;-).
All in all a great place to stay, and couldn't be more content with the service and quality provided.
I was alone that night.
The next morning,
The owner came out.
"Since you were alone, I will ask for 500 baht. Is there a problem?"
A dormitory room is usually around 200 baht.
I was charged 500 baht, more than double the amount.
Definitely not recommended for backpackers on a tight budget.
I recommend the jomtien hostel nearby.
From the next day, jomtein Hostel, which was about 80m behind
was conscientious, the room was clean, and the employees were nice.
